Stretching out his body after getting up and heading towards the shower, he turns around and looks at Makoto still sitting in bed working on her hair, before letting go of a hearty chuckle. “Believe me Makoto, if I wanted something in return, I’d be a lot more blatant then I’m being right now.” Indeed, his charisma, especially with the opposite sex, was legendary in high school and college, but he kept firm in his love for Makoto. It paid off, in spades.
Turning around and closing the sliding door to the washroom, he let his mind wander as the water heated up, and he stepped in the shower. How lucky was he to rise above the rank of delinquent criminal, to go to college with a relatively unblemished name, and be able to get into civic politics, and try to instill change at the grassroots level? His life had been a whirlwind since that Phantom Thieves episode. Most would not believe it, but Makoto did, and that’s all that mattered.
Finishing up his shower and proceeding to shave off the small bit of stubble and facial hair that was growing, Reisuke came down stairs, freshly shaven and cleaned, wearing those all too familiar aviator style glasses, smiling at his wife as he proceeded to go to the coffee pot and check on the coffee. all his time at Sojiro’s place gave him a sharp and smart eye to coffee, and he sometimes brought home bags of different varieties to try and get Makoto interested in. This time however, it was a regular standby, and as he pulled the pot out of the heater, he poured two cups for them and passed one to the woman.
“Have you heard anything from Ann or the others?” he asked softly, a bit out of the loop with the former Phantom Thieves due to work. They still kept in regular contact, all of them having gone their separate ways.
the aroma that danced and woke her senses brought a smile to her face. she indeed did have to visit and thank sojiro sometime. it wasn’t an exotic coffee, as he sometimes surprised her with, yet the taste tangled up in her senses and it was amazing as usual, “ ann actually texted me. “ she picks up the mug to take a small taste.
“ her boyfriend proposed to her last night. i was going to tell you, but you were already asleep by the time i got the message. “ she quietly informed him, a small grin upon her face, “ it took long enough for him to propose. she brought it up a lot in the conversations that she had. “ makoto could honestly relate to the idea. while she had a lot of trust in reisuke, and knew nothing could break the bond that the two had ( after all, the phantom thieves held that deep secret and shared experience of everything dealing with the metaverse and ‘stealing hearts’ ), makoto still became impatient while waiting for him to propose. she never did believe it would be such a monumental experience, and yet it was etched forever in her memory.
jealousy would find itself peeking around whenever anyone fluttered a little too closely around reisuke, even if makoto knew that he was her’s as she was his. he was charming, and handsome. it was to be expected. charisma seeped from every bit of is body. but there was always that slight irritation that slipped in at the thought of what the other person was thinking about reisuke.
it was almost funny. makoto had always been determined to brush him off, and deny any assumptions of a possible crush on the fellow phantom thief while he had first stayed with makoto and sae. now, she couldn’t even deny her own love and how glad she was to call him her husband. “ i’m very proud of you, reisuke. i hope that you know. “ she moves over to him, settling the mug down upon the counter. she only leans up far enough to press a soft, gentle peck to his lips and wrap her arms around his waist and head upon his chest. it lasts only several seconds, but she wants the time to go by slower. it was too quick, and she felt herself pulling away before she became too much of a bother.
