A little delayed, but this was our Thanksgiving dinner this past weekend. My son and I put this together ( this is his plating skills). We served roasted turkey basted with hard apple cider ( which got turned into a gravy), a cherry wood smoked ham that Cedric cooked on the smoker, apple and bacon stuffing, cherry bourbon glazed carrots, mashed potatoes, green beans, home made cranberry sauce. As good as the food was, the company was even more amazing. I am thankful to have been able to be with my family. I love you all. Seanic Route Tropical IPA by @muskokabrewery part of their moonlight kettle series. With notes of pineapple and passionfruit, this beer is well balanced. There is a mild bitterness that doesn't linger on your tongue too long. The aromas of citrus and stone fruits really take you out of Northern Ontario and transport you to somewhere that never experienced our harsh winters. This is the tropics in a can. And too all the naysayers that pineapple and pizza don't belong together, try pairing it with this. Muskoka Brewery's Blue Buried Treasure is a limited release Lactose Pale Ale for 2021 that comes in at 5% ABV. If blueberry icecream is what they were going for, then they certainly have hit the mark. Pair this with a blueberry cheesecake or a nice charcuterie board, as they recommend. I smoked some chicken wings for the first time. The wings hung out in my @chargrillergrills legacy grill with an offset firebox for 2 hours. I used charcoal and hickory chunks and then finished them off in the air fryer, to crisp up the skin some. Spring is here! I am finally getting the opportunity to sit back on my patio and enjoy some nice weather and great beer! Gonna crush this Shatter Cone IPA by @stackbrewing out of the beautiful Sudbury, Ontario. 6.5 ABV. This beer is chocked full of aromas of pine, citrus and fruit. This is a beer that you can introduce to someone who is just starting to venture into the wonderful world of craft beer. It has a nice bitterness that is typical of an IPA, but not so over the top tat it will scare off a newbie to IPAs. Nice, refreshing, crisp and crushable!
