My hot take about this years pre-artfight discourse is that tracing and ‘guidelining’ were and will be used by a large margin of the user base. I havent, wouldn’t and won’t trace - but as stats show most are either fine with it or actively want to be able to. Actually, I think it’s clear from the outcry that most users didn’t even realise it wasn’t previously allowed

Even if either were banned outright - it’s just incredibly hard to moderate. Add on top of that the fact that (as much as I respect them for doing as good a job as they are) the artfight mods are completely swamped. 2 days ago I had a report I made from before last years event be handled. Nearly an entire year passed.

Personally, I’d like them to go a couple years without major rules changes and actually get a handle on how to moderate and litigate the rules they do have.

- I know the mods are mostly (if not all) volunteers.

- And, that there are nowhere near enough of them for the current size of the user base

But, if the mods aren’t able to follow up reports without letting a year go past, what is the point in updating the rule. Or tbh having rules at all. In fact, this constant rule updating is probably just confusing participants on what is/isn’t allowed - leading more to accidentally break them - and mudding the mods already muddy water (whilst they still have a tsunami of reports to sort through).

To be clear, my issue is with the event organisers not with the mods. I feel bad for the mods that they are getting hamfisted so consistently from both ends.

Hey, I ADORE all your TL builds!! Question for you~ I'm trying to figure out how to reproduce the Fleet Science Building in TL. The hardest part I'm running into is the octagons; I wouldn't mind using a cylinder-type building but the roof at least is being very difficult to attempt lol. Do you have any ideas for doing something like that? No worries if not~ Thanks and keep up the amazing work!! I look forward to seeing what you post next :D

Octagonal buildings in tomodachi life,, this was a headscratcher and a fun challenge. The roof is, admittedly, nowhere near perfect but from most angles its hard to tell theres a gap :)

You said in your message that cylinders would be okay, so I hope the curved sides of the inverted cylinders are okay? In the above image the red cylinder is a "domed roof" asset - as the 'roof' part of those assets is added ontop of the height specified - which helps add a little 3D. The yellow asset is a pyramid roof, and the other 3 are 1x3 cube assets

I was scrolling on the tlttd reddit, who knows why, and someone mentioned tomopattern.com.

I was like ‘oh cool, a pattern sharing website for custom designs, that’s awesome’ - I have been meaning to find somewhere where I can put the actual pixel art dimensions of my tutorial house online so people can follow it easier.

I open the link and in the first line of results there is the exact house from my first post about the yellow house. I felt like it had probably been ripped somewhere already, and I don’t really want credit cause I now think the yellow house is really ugly - but I didn’t expect to see it in the wild so soon lol

Guess I don’t have to digitise it now though, so thanks random stranger! /gen

In the description, it even includes the error from the first reddit post of the house. Where I mistakenly say you have to make it max size to use with the awning which I have been trying to reply to people as much as possible that that is completely wrong and will not work in the way I said it did originally
