I've been on a murder mystery/English middlebrow fiction reading kick these last couple of months (with the occasional sci-fi thrown in as a treat), but they're starting to get repetitive. What fantasy books have you all been reading and enjoying this summer?

I’m just giggling at how I imagine my Tav meeting her half elf (drow heritage) guardian who’s so confused but so determined to do the right thing like:

Tav, scratching her ear and looking away while TRYING to act unflustered by what seemed to be a very intense and sudden soulmate confession: Yyyeeeaaah, buddy, sorry to disappoint, those are probably the brain tadpoles.

He actually hasn’t eaten anyone sapient before and is relieved when Tav says he can do it to her after apologizing for trying to do so out of secret desperation and he actually keeps his word about not eating the others?!

My Tav, IMMEDIATELY clocking Raphael as either a fey or someone Very Suspicious: Okay, I know Astarion is weird, but HE didn’t just materialize out of no where and offer me the world and the best feast I’ve ever seen out of thin air, so I’M NOT TRUSTING YOU AND YOUR WEIRD FLIRTATIONS AND INNUENDOS, BUB.

And as soon as he revealed himself for what he was, you bet she (Paladin) was frothing at the mouth to rip him limb from limb.

BUT WHERE IS HER GUARDIAN, I SPENT SO MUCH TIME MAKING HIM:
