I'm sorry to disappoint but Aspen is Ruby's bestie/roommate from before the circus🥲
They were the one to find Ruby after she put on the headset. I don't have a whole lot in store for them sadly but they will make appearances in scenes from before and after the circus. I'm planning on making an animatic that they will play a large part in!!

Since she's kinda based on a lava lamp, does she have to like, warm up and get moving for the day to start to glow? Like if she's asleep does the flowiness in her design settle down and she doesn't glow?

Maggy's glowy, flowy, and warm by default when shes awake and not experiencing any big emotions!! she doesnt really have to warm up necessarily but she is duller, less flowy, and cooler when shes sleeping or if shes feeling depressed
idc if its tropey: her colors and temperature change with big emotions. in her human life, she often had people put words in her mouth and make assumptions about what she "really" meant about things even though one of her main characteristics is being incredibly upfront and honest (projecting my experience as a neurodivergent person lol). her emotions reflecting through her avatar is an allusion to that bluntness about her
I need to actually make a chart on what she looks like when she experiences those emotions lol
this is kinda an example of what happens when shes sleepy (not as glowy and duller color)

I feel like just because of Ragatha's nature of not wanting to be a burden, it would be a little bit into them knowing each other before she told Maggy.
She would be FURIOUS about it obviously. however, within the circus at least, she knows how to prioritize whats most important to focus on. She knows Ragatha needs her support and encouragement in the beginning. the rage comes later when shes helped Ragatha allow herself to be angry about it herself
During my After the Circus AU tho... Ragatha/Dollys mom is very lucky to already be dead and never have to face Maggy/Ruby because it would not end well
Bread and butter pickles are fire and I'm tired of having to pretend they're not 💔
idk if i'd call this finished and i don't think im super happy with how it turned out but i have spent wayyyy too long on it to not ever post it so here lol
