i'm gonna use my irish card again (well, irish diaspora card) in a fittingly ironic fashion and tell you that remmick is exactly the kind of embarrassing shit that white irish americans like to pull.

irish people were never enslaved, it was indentured servitude. yes, colonialism is a major and fucked up part of our history and existence, and our culture is frequently appropriated by white nationalists to the point we can't even use our own symbols anymore. most of our history has been suppressed, erased, and forgotten. i've also never ever spoken to another irish american (in person) who knew wtf they were talking about; they spew the same bullshit that the british empire does.

but we don't understand black racism. we never will. you can be part of a fundamentally colonized culture and still be an oppressor. i really don't get why this is so hard to grasp.

being irish, in any sense, no matter how educated you could possibly be on our history (which takes a lot of fucking effort, explained above), doesn't absolve you from benefiting from white supremacy and racism. if you're white, your people didn't experience chattel enslavement. you don't experience racism. get over it.

oh and signs up outside of businesses that said "no irish" didn't do it, either. look around you. look where we are right now today, and still try to tell me you understand racism.

you can't be in the frying pan yapping about how you understand the folks in the fire. it's arrogant, pathetic, and again, embarrassing.

Idk who needs to here this but if you're white you don't need to always speak your opinion. It's actually 100x more respectful to shut the fuck up when it's about a community or experience you have never and will not understand nor experience. As a disclaimer, I like the series and I love what they are doing with it. But just bc it's a kid show doesn't mean that it can't have darker themes. I feel like the serious tone is overshadowed by its humor A LOT. Not to say a show can't have humor but there has to be a balance between that and the overarching story.

It would've been nice if wukong died (I know he's immortal but before you say anything, watch season 5, no spoilers here but just in case i'll tag it as so) by sacrificing himself, it would've had a greater impact on MK, possibly get his immortality back, and he will have to learn on his own on how to be the Monkie Kid.

It would've had much more impact if the Monkey King wasn't here to help MK all the time and left him (like ACTUALLY LEFT HIM) to clean up his mess.

I can see Macaque holding a lot of resentment towards MK because he sees Wukong in him a lot of times and is prone to leaving him behind but he's holding onto the memories he has with Wukong.

I also feel like the other mc characters (Mei, Pigsy, Sandy, Tang) are VERY underutilized. Mei has some development but even if so, that was for the entirety of the Lady Bone Demon. I don't know what we'll see for Season 6 but hopefully it's about Pigsy’s hertiage, Tang’s ancestory and/or Sandy’s descendants.

I would like to hear everyone else's thoughts about this, or hell, even some of your suggestions about the series, I would love to see your input :)

Why the hell are we doing this?

Here is the “hottest” take I ever had.

“He/Him” Lesbians don’t fucking exist. And if you speak of yourself being that, you are a complete contradiction to the English language.

I don’t fucking care if you call me a TERF or everything under the sun, you’re not real. Cis is not bad. And the fact that this exists means that there’s a severe case of FOMO or whatever the hell is going on. The internet had gone so downhill that we are making shit up.

He/Him relates to a masculine presenting person.

Lesbian means Women loving women.

So therefore, a “He/Him” Lesbian makes no fucking sense. Stop making shit up and literally say you are straight or gay, my god. We have it for a reason. We are already being looked at sideways because people keep making shit up just for the fun of it or to seem different. Just adhere to the labels that are already given or don’t have any at all. Simple.

If we, as a community, keep accepting people that contradicts everything, it will only make things worse.

Labels exists. And not all are bad. They are there for a reason. This is the reason why people don’t want to fuck with us. Because people like this make it so fucking difficult for people to understand when they are already things for shit. Stop making it up.

Society is revolved around labels, yes, but they are there for a reason to understand what is going on. “Well, they don’t need to understand me.” Yes, but if you’re stringing two words together that contradict each other, do you really want to be understood or you want to be different because you don’t stand out? Pick a side.
