They say that one of the signs of depression is going for days without brushing your teeth!!!
When's the last time you had "something" in your mouth?
You have arrived!
You've taken the most critical step in your life, heeded the advice of several of your colleagues, friends, family, trusty lawyer, forgiving judge and faithful probation officer.
You are Sober AF and life is on the uptick, right?
Well, on its way up at least. You are now navigating the waters of a clear mind and have taken the full advantage of memory retention and shunned the blackouts and pass outs, it's time for a good night sleep with none other than your body, by yourself, your lonesome.
The congratulatory comments have come and gone and you are off to the races. You, my friend are now in the thick of sobriety and thank God for that, because its bedtime.
There is only one organism that you forgot to really clue in, your body and its pissed! But why does it need notice, after all its your body and you'll be damned from taking orders from yourself, especially your autonomic self. You feed it, nourish it, take care of it. You're the boss!
Heavily armed with your 10,000 gallons of water on your bedside table and the half apple you could barely choke down for lunch, you hit the lights for some good old r and r, after all you do need your sleep and, being sober requires energy and just "saying no."
Sounds easy, right?
This time, is it for real?
Let the journey begin!
