,,He held himself up on all fours above me and made me reach up for his mouth-and I did.”
For context: This guy is a ex cop who is there to expose the fact that police heavily manipulate these statistics to cover up the truth. He aint a bad person who is lying, he is a good person who is pointing out that the police is lying.
Windex isn’t carbonated
The use of the princess bride implies that they’re both windex
it also implies that op developed immunity to windex
#I’ve spent the last five years building up an immunity to windex
How dare you call that a shitpost. sushi's death is NOT something to joke around with you heartless popcorn kernel
But angst at the expense of Aizawa is fun. Also you needn’t worry
Sushi’s in a better place
What if this whole incident with Shirakumo is exactly the reason why Aizawa chooses to work alone?
Like we see in the past few chapters that he has no problem teaming up with people, and has no problem telling everyone that he had help, but in reality, it had been just him. Alone. Others might see it as a great accomplishment, but all he’s thinking is how he’s lost something terribly important, vital, and how he never wants to see this repeated again.
So perhaps he does everything in his power to ensure it doesn’t, everything from eventually giving in and becoming a teacher as all his friends, Shirakumo included, encouraged him to. This way he can teach the future generation to be more careful, to take villain fighting seriously, to not be naive. More than that, he works in the underground, he works alone, he doesn’t do teams. He watches his own back so others don’t have to. It’s not about proving he can do it, it’s not about showing off or not trusting others, it’s about not trusting himself. It’s about not being capable of feeling this incredibly isolating sensation of loss again.
The end
Cherubplay is now read-only. The read only archive will remain online for a while - at least until the end of the year, probably longer - so you’ll still be able to export your chats until then.
Whilst I was the only official staff member, there are various other people I’d like to mention and thank:
Nadia, for her guidance and general moral support.
Raleigh, for their help with the category rules.
Dmitri, Nepeat and the rest of the old Parp crew, for their support on the technical side of things.
Alex. You know why.
Everyone who gave feature requests, suggestions and bug reports. Though I didn’t get around to implementing them all, the ones that did make it in were incredibly useful.
And finally, you. I’ve received loads of messages of support and thanks from the community. There’s too many to respond to individually, but know that I’m grateful for them all <3
Over the last 5 years, 9 months and 18 days, 51,036 users have taken part in 1,210,968 chats and sent 56,984,301 messages. Starting with Homestuck and encompassing too many fandoms to list, Cherubplay was a hub of creativity. It brought people together, allowed them to create new worlds and let them bond through shared fiction. Though the site is over I hope the friendships and memories created here will last for years to come. After all, the real Cherubplay was the friends we made along the way.
REALLY FUCKING GOOD, THANKS
I was right

"IS THAT ALL MIGHT?!?!"
Angst can't touch me until the new Vigilante chapter comes out.
so i love shirakumo
so the new vigilantes chapter shows aizawa was frustrated by his own abilities, and viewed himself as powerless. he didn’t think he could be a hero. shirakumo, on the other hand, looks at ease - and doesn’t hesitate to take in the cat aizawa left behind.
this makes me think this panel (which was previously thought to be referencing shirakumo) doesn’t actually refer to shirakumo, but himself:
it would make sense if aizawa was actually this problem child, and might have caused something to happen to shirakumo.
fluffy cloud boy
This is amazing
Tons of Aizawa backstory in viginaltes
Behold.
BUT WAIT. THERES MORE
ITS THE GUY. A sunshine child!
Anyhow this large supply of babyfaced emo Aizawa is enough to make my year, plus we now know who the mystery friend is! Oboro Shirakumo!!
A sense of familiarity
(Based on the last chapter of Vigilantes (59) where we got to meet Aizawa’s friend… my brain went down the gutter as soon as I read it)
Aizawa's type is smiley ball of sunshine
Thoughts About My Hero Academia: Vigilantes Newest Chapter
So I know the next chapter will be released in a few days but this most recent chapter has been on my mind for a while and it’s because of this Shirakumo character! I know many have said he resembles All Might in his youth because of their smile and overall infectious optimism, but I want to talk about something else.
These are some notes I’ve saved to my phone so apologies about how scattered they are. This was definitely a spur of the moment thing, so I didn’t get a chance to make it all fancy.
You know I was thinking more about this Shirakumo character. You’d think someone with his quirk and personality (like his optimism and overall charisma) would make him quite a popular hero and considering he would be Aizawa’s age in the current timeline, we would have heard about him. I’ve got this feeling that something unfortunate happened to him like he passed away before he could become a hero or his hero career was short-lived and it’s for that reason Aizawa has a hard time talking about it. (Edit: Or maybe because Aizawa was at such a low point in his life and felt like he wouldn’t accomplish anything, it’s painful to remember those days)
I mean besides the fact that Shirakumo saved the kitten that Aizawa wanted to save from the rain (though he did leave his umbrella which we saw he returned). I feel like there’s definitely more to it.
Had Shirakumo not seen the umbrella Aizawa left, that cat would’ve been forgotten in the rain. So really it was Aizawa who spurred Shirakumo to even consider saving that cat; Aizawa acted as a catalyst. This is so very important and significant because Aizawa (of the past) does not consider this to be an act of heroism. This chapter is told as a reflection because Aizawa is speaking in past tense where he reminisces of his youth at a time that can be so very confusing and many share the same thought: “What will I be in the future?” or something along those lines. For Aizawa we can see that he didn’t think he had it in him to be a hero simply because he didn’t have the personality, the quirk, or the confidence to be one. This ray of sunshine Shirakumo certainly played an important role in Aizawa’s life.
I really really hope I am wrong about my theories for Oboro Shirakumo and that he’s still around and thriving, but based on Aizawa’s initial reaction (see first screencap) it doesn’t seem good. It’s quite melancholy actually. However, time (like 2 days) will tell!! I just really had to get this off my chest. (Edit: Idk if this confirms whether or not he is living but Shirakumo is mentioned, though very briefly, in the main story of My Hero Academia in chapter 217...so that means he may possibly make an appearance in the main story?? I hope! He’s a cutie okay lmao. Also the readers (us) didn’t know who he was at that time because this current chapter of Vigilantes wasn’t out yet.)
Also I could be jumping the gun with this but maybe Aizawa had a similar experience as Mirio did during Sir Nighteye’s deathbed where he was told to “keep smiling” in order to “bring about a brighter future” but with Shirakumo which is why Aizawa took it upon himself to become a hero.
It goes to show that you can still influence society and make the world a better place by taking that extra step and not hesitating to do good. Changing your attitude is powerful and it makes a difference! Just look at how Aizawa turned out! Sure he’s never been the flashy type but who knows had he never encountered Shirakumo, he might not have been the hero, hell, the person he is today. (Edit: omg what if Shirakumo became a villain?? But how would that work lmao clouds are like...balls of cotton. Almost like his quirk doesn’t let him be the bad guy)
Side note: If you actually read through all of this...wth are you doing with your time hmm??? instead of reading this garbage you could be—jk jk honestly you’re amazing if you did lol lauv u <3
Side-side note: Did you know: my WiFi was being a piece of shit and triggered tumblr that when I first made this post and saved it as a draft it only saved partially and i had a mental breakdown because it was made so much better than this. anyways rip to the og one; it’s lost in.., oh whoa where did it go tho??
Me, knowing all of this and knowing he's probably dead: God I love him what a ray of sunshine a good ol cumulus cutie a great guy who I would die for.
