@wibbley-wobble So in XIV lore there was a queen named Gunhilder who ruled a country that was conquered by the big bad guy nation, galemald, and she had a royal guard called “gunhilder’s blades” who fought with swords that had triggers on them and were used for channeling magic, and these were called gunblades after the royal guard, When garlemald conquered bozja they copied the design of their swords but garleans can’t use magic so to adopt their fighting style they switched to a mechanical design that used black powder. Later on firearms were developed off of this concept and since they were “gunblades without the blade” people started calling them guns.

I think it's because the lion furries are kinda the most normal thing going on here. Like, most of the time a character's race won't ever be mentioned by other characters unless it's relevant, and it's very rarely relevant. The mysterious hypercapitalist that actually isn't that evil and funds a lot of important stuff is a lawn gnome and everyone respects him, at least to his face. The Aztec king has three kids, of which two are different species from him (and each other) and the only one anybody says anything about is the trueborn because the king was supposedly sterile. All three kids have equal claim to the throne and no one ever questions that. There are multiple times that literal aliens from outer space come down and everybody is just like Oh hi, nice to meet you.

i had the best human interaction of all time last night. i was sitting at a bar eating an appetizer and this guy comes up to order a drink and stares at my food and comments how good it looks. when i am drunk i use the word bitch like it is a comma, i plug it into any space in a sentence possible. so naturally the first thing i say to this stranger is, “go ahead and take one, bitch.”

he looks SO shocked and taken aback and goes “what did you just say? how do you know my name?” so i sit there for a moment trying to figure out what the fuck he is talking about, and then go, “…. bitch?” and he looks so relieved and tells me his name is mitch.

Did you know cracked shells are the most common cause for wild turtles to need rehabilitation? Did you know turtles with cracked shells are the most common reptiles in wildlife rehabilitation? Did you know it takes months for the shell to fuse back together? Did you know they fill in the empty spots with epoxy? Did you know that for reasons I cannot understand or articulate, I am fine watching footage of all other veterinary procedures but witnessing injured turtles undergo surgery makes me tear up with grief and sympathy? I have absolutely no idea why watching a spay on a mammal or the surgical repair of a broken leg or the draining of a hoof abscess on an ungulate does not bother me but little turtles being glued back together like Humpty Dumpty makes me hurt too. I’ve cleaned bite abscesses on cats and been fine but watching videos of turtles getting their shell glued together is where my mind draws the line for some reason.
