i'll admit rereading angels in america in september 2025 is a lowkey harrowing experience because literally everything roy cohn said he wanted to happen... has happened.
everything louis was worried about... has happened or is actively happening
everything belize said was already going on has gotten SO MUCH WORSE
even down to the line about healthcare and health in america that goes "america is no place for the infirm" like... oh man
Angels in America motifs
Movement + Louis
when will Jams McArdle return from war?
so i guess i'm the only one who didn't like buena vista social club i guess...
should i write out my full thesis as to why shucked should've won the pulitzer for drama?
I am in pain
I don't want to be alone, that's all in the past. This world's waited long enough, I've come home at last.
GAVIN CREEL (April 18, 1976 – September 30, 2024)
Actually devastated about Gavin Creel dying 😭😭
The Broadway community lost a true icon 💔
one of those voices you needed to hear in person at least once in your life

“I was really proud to be in that show. I will never forget. I got the script to ‘millie,’ and I’m flipping through the script and saying, ’boy, I have some lines … I have a big song.’ I was 25 years old and had never been on broadway before. I got to the end of the script, and I was really nervous and excited. I realized I had a lot to do.”
i love one (1) good man

Gavin Creel (accompanied by Mary-Mitchell Campbell) singing “Meadowlark” from The Baker’s Wife | Subculture, October 08 2018
“Because of one of my heros, Stephen Schwartz, and because of one of my heros, Patti LuPone - I’m going to sing Meadowlark, motherfuckers. And not because it’s about this story, necessarily, in The Baker’s Wife - but what it represented to me as a small, tiny, invisible, five-paces-behind human being. To be attached to that king, which is Findlay, Ohio and all the things that were expected of me, and then to see the Sun God, which is New York City and this incredible community of people who are like “you know what, out here you’re safe too but you’ve got to be willing to crawl out to the end of that branch and find us”. And the obligation that I felt between these two things and the confusion and the pain… in one tiny little bird I heard that pain, and I just want to sing it for you now. And I hope that you hear hope and victory and possibility within this song in a way that I have.”
