i have been really mentally unstable the last week or so. so, my husband tried to cheer me up by sketching this post-mockingjay pregnant katniss and peeta in the wildflowers. to say i am touched is an understatement. i am SOBBING.

SNOWY RECREATION TIME

Hello there! Some time ago I asked you to make a choice for my next illustration but I managed to draw it only now 😅. But here it is! I actually never saw a fanart on this outfit but maybe I’m just a bad seeker. So it’s outfit #13: Victory Tour’s recreational winter gears.

What do we know about this outfit: “My hands dig around in my closet until I find the insulated winter gear Cinna made for me for recreational use on the Victory Tour, a snowsuit that covers me from head to toe, thermal gloves. <...> this high-tech clothing. <...> my face was bundled in a scarf. <...> Instead I just pull off my wet hood and shake the snow from my hair. <...> My mother eases off my boots.” (c) Catching Fire, chapter 9

So it’s obvious that Peeta had some winter gear too. I decided (hello, it’s me, Portia) to give Peeta two-piece suit, more common for men. Also I think a slightly holographic suit looks great on Katniss and has that Capitol look. But also will be ok in the woods.

The moment: I actually draw that cool scene when Katniss returns from the woods with broken heel, and they play that little spectacle in front of the peacekeepers. But then I thought that it more suits to the “everlark moments” series (which I plan to start after the “outfit” series is done) and had to redraw Peeta’s clothes 😅. So now I think this scene is taken place somewhere in one of the northern district during their tour through it. And this kiss is a little bit staged. But the one for peacekeepers also was not-that-real, so not much were changed here 😅. Still everlark kiss after all! And you know I love to draw them kissing, yeah.
