“So you want my schedule?” Kendall’s grin widened. The girl was like a fawn on newborn legs. Kendall wondered if she’d ever been that innocent when it came to her own sexuality. The answer was probably no. “It’s a very fun job. I only dance to the good music … and sometimes lucky voyeurs get to keep my panties.” Her fingers tiptoed across the table to brush against the edges of Bellamy’s. “Of course, I am inclined to give private shows now and then. But in the meantime, why don’t you tell me more about yourself?”

“That’s so upfront, I’m sorry,” Bellamy said with a sheepish smile. It was and she hadn’t though so until it was spoken like that. Oops. “Lucky gents they are. I’ll keep my word and come in sometime.” She hadn’t ever entered a strip club once in her short life, but there was a time for everything. that and if she had forever to go then may as well get in those firsts. Bellamy’s eyes followed Kendall’ fingers, and then her gaze drifted upward to the woman’s face again. “They let you do that? Well I don’t think I am that interesting. I’m like ninety-nine percent sure I’m a goofy nerd with a lack of social skillsl half the time. Like my Saturday's are usual spent re-watching Spiderman or playing Uno with the roommate. I wish I was more interesting than that. Uhm, from Ontario originally. I’m one of the refugee’s in town. No familyto speak of.”

Ever since that morning, Laura was not doing well. She was distracted and with her mind in the clouds. Though she had always been afraid of the dark and hated horror films, the face that appeared in the mirror had kept her staring for a little while. It was then that a notification from her phone pulled her out of it and she rushed out of the house to go to work. Since then, she both couldn’t get the woman’s face and her own name out of her head. She wished she could tell someone. “Oh god, I’m sorry!” she exclaimed as she full on walked into someone, immediately bending down to help them pick up what they had dropped. “I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to–– I was lost in thought. Are you alright?”

Out and about was still a foreign thing. Like being in a new space and learning the right paths to walk and the wrong ones. She was in thought when someone bumped her and sent her balance off. Her phone hit the pavement along with the rectangular shaped box she had been on her way with. At least the latter wasn’t breakable. “No big! I do that a lot too. Way too many thoughts sometimes-” she reassured offering a small smile as she scooped up the phone that already harbored a few good sized dents before the fall. Nothing new. Hazel eyes found Laura’s, a brief moment of being too close and catching the woman’s scent making her swallow the lump in her throat. “You ok?” Bellamy deterred. “You seemed like you were pretty gone.”

Oh she was precious, a smile like sunshine, but those pretty eyes were hungry and burgeoning with curiosity. Kendall did love to help a fellow lady out when it came to self discovery, that was for certain. One shoulder shifted upward into a shrug. “I’ve had odd jobs all over the place, used to work at the general store. but I got a fabulous new job over at Pandemonium. It involves a stage, and lights, me moving my hips and taking my clothes off very very slowly.” She winked, leaned in to the other woman. “You should stop by sometime.”

“Oh.” A surprise answer if you asked Bellamy. She wasn’t that naive, no, but she also hadn’t her share of exposure to those sorts of things so she couldn't help the blush that crept into her cheeks. “Well that does sound like a rather exciting job at least,” she added once she found actual words to apply to the response. was she embarrassing herself? Probably. She was rather good at it all on her own. “I definitely will. On a day you work though..”

“Yeah”, Henryk said and scoffed, “saying that is one thing”. He doubted she’d be a good student, but then again he never meant to make her into a vampire in the first place. He doubted Bellamy would make a good one in any capacity, but it didn’t make her any less of a vampire and he merely motioned for her to follow after him, closing the door behind them.

“Tell me everything you know about what vampires can do”, Henryk instructed as the two walked down the street. He let out a mocking chuckle. “From your vampire hunter lessons…”

He doubted her and kept doubting her, but Bellamy was persistent enough to not give up on it yet. She followed in step along side him, a bit dumbfounded still how things had changed. She wouldn’t have touched him with a ten foot pole before, and now look. Thinking back on it she stirred up the given information with a bit of trouble. The last month had been chaotic enough to disrupt everything else.

“Uhm, compulsion, speed, heightened senses in general....” She waved her hand at that one, generalizing it. “-The basics honestly. Don’t laugh.”

For Summer it was like gears turning, listening to Bellamy speak. It was like the entire world slowly wound itself backwards like confused clockwork, and everything came down to those ice cold fingers against hers. She wasn’t sure if she needed to hear the words spilling forth from Bellamy’s mouth to know, maybe it would have clicked into place anyway, like the final puzzle piece that highlighted all the things about the world that Summer hadn’t understood.

“You died?”

Her voice trembled and a thousand thoughts clamored in her mind all vying for the spot on the tip of her tongue, ready to swan dive into the air.

Warm fingers tightened against the ones that felt like ice.

“You died … Bellamy … I’m … “

Sorry. You said sorry to someone after a death. Normally it was to a grieving relative though, not to the actual deceased member. Tears clumped against her eyelashes, raced down her cheeks to collect unattractively against chin. Her friend had died. And then come back this … this confusing and intimidating thing … but still Bellamy, still her friend Bellamy who had kept the internal struggle to herself out of fear, out of protective instinct.

Another hug was launched like Summer was going to war. This one tight, not so easy to pull out of. “I don’t … I don’t know if I’ve fully processed anything you just said and I’m scared Bellamy, I’m scared and I don’t know what to do with that fear. But I don’t hate you. I could never hate you.”

“No you don’t have to say anything. I’m sorry. I’m sorry you have to deal with all this supernatural crap to begin with and you were finding out in a bad way.”

No reason for Summer to feel poorly. Bellamy was in her situation of her own doing partly. The other half being Henryks fault, and yet she didn’t regret most of it. Ultimately this might have been exactly he way she was meant to be. It was Summer she was worried about. How did you cope with news like that? That every creepy thing you ehard a story about was actually something real and tangible? It would have made her more scared so she could only guess what was going through her friend’s mind.

Summer wrpped her arms around Bellamy again and she stiffened. This time it was a tighter hold and she could have probably pried her off, but she wasn’t used to the new found strength. Hurting her was a worry so Bellamy instead was cautious. She loosely had her arms around the woman’s waist, but she was just too close. The burn in the back of her throat was like fire choking her, and she could feel it through ever nerve in her.

“It’s alright to be scared,” Bellamy offered in a attempt to distract herself, but Summer was warm in Bellamy’s arms and a terrible distraction herself. “You really need to let go. Please, Summer, I don’t want to hurt you.”

A long story. Brand had no doubt it would be complicated where Henryk was concerned and let the young vampire fill him in. Torture, kidnapping, locking people in basements with creatures that might kill them. Henryk had clearly broken all the rules and needed a reminder of why that was a bad idea. “Indeed, there’s a certain logic to that. What’s your name?” It would be easier to chastise Henryk about her if he knew who she was. The vampire would clearly need to learn several lessons soon. Brand nodded. “I try to be helpful.” At least to vampires, but there was no reason to tell her that part.

“Bellamy Scott. You know him then right? Like know him well? Just wondering if he’s always been like this.” Bellamy didn’t know details about Henryk and that part bothered her. She couldn’t get under someone’s skin that she didn’t know right? “You’re already more helpful than him. I can’t get two words out without him pointing out I’m obnoxious.”

Kendall grinned, scooting her chair just a little closer because this blushing gem was absolutely adorable. And that was how Kendall liked her girls. Adorable, the types she wanted to wrap up and perpetually pull onto her lap. “Bellamy.” She gushed the name, pushed it outwards and let the charm nosedive off her tongue. “Lovely name for a lovely lady. I’m Kendall.” She brought another spoonful of fro-yo to her mouth, letting the spoon linger for longer than was necessary. “Cute and knows one of my favorite jams. You’re already winning points, Miss Bellamy.”

“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Kendall.,” Bellamy returned honestly. Good company wasn't easy to find, and maybe just maybe Bellamy was pushing her own comfort zone in a attempt to do some self discovering. If you wanted to call it that. It was a win win for both parties. Her eyes lingered on the spoon and then the woman’s face a beat too long having to pull her gaze away and instead at the table a moment. “Well, you’re cute too so hey we’re both winning today. So, what is it you do in this little town?”

Summer shook her head. “You’ve been sick, you’re not feeling well … or … or dealing with stuff of your own maybe. You don’t need to have my stuff weighing you down too.” As much as the brunette protested, something in her always cracked when another person offered to hear her out. “I’m just … when I was little … living things that weren’t humans or like … your run of the mill animals, they were fantasy.” Her eyes were wide, heart beginning to race, like her body was revolting against the revelation she was about to put into words. “But on the full moon this thing that was not a wolf attacked me. The stuff with that tree was not in a fairytale book … and I keep hearing people use terms like witches and werewolves and vampires … and they’re being serious.” She took a shuddering breath. “So you know … either I’m hallucinating all of this or I actually have no handle on the realities of the world whatsoever and both options are fucking scary.”

Bellamy had never had to deal with a friend that didn’t know anything about the supernatural side of things. It was hard to always be cautious, but Summer was falling into the mess before anyone could offer up a proper explanation.

“Summer, I won’t lie to you-” She offered, reaching out to take her friends hand in hers. As a after thought she figured it might have been a bad move as cold as her hands were now. It would have startled the best of people. “It’s not a fairytale. It’s all real . Very very real and very very scary sometimes. I never told you anything about my parents or where i come from because I didn’t want to put that on you. If you got to live blissfully unaware and happy then great. I’m sorry to hear that you’re facing it without a good explanation now though. See, where there are vampire’s and werewolves among other things, there are hunter’s who tack them down and kill them. Sometimes for things they did and sometimes just because hunters enjoy that stuff. My parents were hunter’s. I was raised to be a hunter. They died because of a group of vampire’s, and I was on my own since. I was supposed to be one and carry on our family name. Some sort of honor thing I guess, but when I was gone I wasn’t just sick in bed.”

She didn’t want to say it outloud for fear of sounding like a lunatic, but there was with her heart on display and the hard truth all spelled out. She hoped to god she didn’t scare Summer away.

“I died, in short. Kidnapped and with no way out so....now I”m not even human and I’ve avoided you because I didn’t want to hurt you and I was worried you might hate me. I had to choose being a vampire just to get out of what i was in basically. I wish I had an easier way of telling you that every spooky thing or monster under the bed is real, but I don’t. I’m sorry.”

“I bet jellybeans aren’t the only things you have to unstick from those seats.” He despised movie theatres for that reason– too many handsy first dates in the wings. The bartender debated tossing a maraschino cherry into his drink, they seemed to have a plethora of them under the bar, but he hadn’t picked a way yet to serve them. While he fished the fruit out of the jar, he answered. “I haven’t really been here long enough to figure it out. I go home, I feed my dog, I sleep in the middle of the day.” Monty popped a cherry onto his tongue, surprise making his eyebrows lift while he chewed, tipping the mouth of the jar towards the vampire. “This is hooch.”

“You know it. It’s not a glamorous job at all. but it pays my way.” Or it did. She wans’t sure she had a job anymore because she hadn;t been in a while. According to Henryk and Malachi though she didn’t need a job and could get whatever another way. Whatever that meant. “Sounds uneventful to be honest. Don’t you like night clubs or nature walks? Maybe just a good old walk around the park? Not just your stuffy apartment though a dog is very cool. She gave him a funny look at the latter, however. “Hooch? I don’t drink enough to know what that is supposed to mean.”

“Heck yeah, wearing your own cloths is a bonus,” Bellamy agreed. “I get a fancy red vest at mine. Get to sweep up spilled popcorn off the floors and unstick jellybeans from seats. Fun times at the movie theater.” She took a drink, throwing in another question. “So then Monty, what do you do in your spare time? Like you get off work and..?”
