One of the funniest things about Mormonism is that I’m sure Joseph Smith never believed any of the bullshit he said. There are some religions and cults where you have faith the original prophet actually thought they were talking to angels or believed the set of principles they laid out for their followers were for the greater good. Joseph Smith was a dumbass but like PT Barnum he realized a sucker was born every day and he was one step above the average 1830s sucker. He went from making people pay him to look at a rock in a top hat and ‘locate buried treasure’ to receiving lost bits of scripture, through the rock and top hat method. His wife caught him cheating and he said an angel visited him and told him men should be allowed multiple wives and not obeying that would send her to hell. I’m fairly convinced that dude was an atheist. He was on that hustler grindset. Brigham Young might have actually believed some of the shit he said but I don’t think Joseph Smith genuinely had faith in Mormonism or gave a fuck about humanity in the slightest.

also like one of the other ways we know Joseph Smith was full of shit was the God EXPLICITLY SAID There wouldnt be anymore Prophets after Muhammad... that said one of the few things Smith got right was that Monogamy is wrong however he shouldnt have done it like that, Relationships with one Man must be limited to 4 Women, and the Men has to treat them Fairly/Equitibly, and pay for their expenses, the Privledge of having Multiple Wives comes with far more responsiblity

Hey all not to rain on the shitting on Mormons parade, but historicity does not actually support this con-man image of Joseph Smith. He very likely saw himself as a truly enlightened Prophet. The Mormon Auditor classed him as a 'pious magician' by pointing out that many of his ideas come from occult Christian books that he heavily drew upon. Sadly, he has taken down most of his channel. Unfortunately -- JS was just stupid and racist. If we're going to be criticizing Mormons, we shouldn't be drawing fraught conclusions about their origin. We should be criticizing their present actions. Like their Zionist real-estate holdings, or the fact that they pour all of their tithings into Nvidia, Apple, and war machine stocks.

Also, as a Muslim, God did not explicitly say there would be no more Prophets after Mohammed. God called Mohammed 'the cornerstone' or khtm, the 'brick' or 'seal/last piece'. This hadith qudsi is clearly drawing on the line the stone the builders forgot has become the cornerstone, from the Psalms and the Gospels. Please be more careful when speaking about religion. What this means ontologically is that each new Prophet is the fulfilment of all who came before, not the last one to ever physically exist, as the Sikh and Babi revelations also host their own Prophets and are undoubtedly from the mouth of God. In a Post-Islamic sense, this means Mohammed is merely the 'archetypal' Prophet and the Quran is the 'archetypal' revelation which all others are weighed against. This is the Bayani perspective, which is also mirrored in Sufi doctrines of the 'perfect human' and Shi'ite ideas of waliyah/divine guardianship. Please educate yourselves before wading into scholarly topics.
