LEAD ME TO THE CROSS “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. - Hebrews 12:1-3.
Can you picture the race? The runner intent on winning focuses only on the goal, the finish line. Nothing will stop him. He runs into a few snags on the way, a branch, a hot sweater, another runner, but each time he quickly brushes these things aside because he has his sight set on the goal–Jesus.
Jesus – the pioneer and perfector of our faith. Jesus who had so much faith in His Father’s plan, that he was willing to follow through even to death on the cross.
Where is your focus today? Are your eyes wondering, or have you completely stopped in your tracks?
Words from our sing today: Savior I come Quiet my soul remember Redemption’s hill Where Your blood was spilled For my ransom Everything I once held dear I count it all as loss
[Chorus:] Lead me to the cross Where Your love poured out Bring me to my knees Lord I lay me down Rid me of myself I belong to You Lead me, lead me to the cross
May God be with you in your journey today as you keep your eyes on Him.
