A scoff emitted from the blonde’s lips as she listened to Holly speak, and she shook her heard before taking an aggravated step forward.“How dare you?” Peyton cleared her throat, trying to wipe her voice of any sadness or anger. “I gave you my whole world, Holly. I let you in, I trusted you, I gave you everything I had, and you left me. You promised me you’d stay, that you’d never hurt me. But you did..” Feeling breathless, Peyton turned away to compose herself, running a hand through her hair. A silence fell between them for a moment before she spoke again.. “You abandoned me, just like everyone else in my life, and if you think you can sit there and tell me that it was my fault and call me a whore, then you’re sadly mistaken.” Her lungs ached, her tears stung, her throat felt crushed. “Fine, you will never see me again. You have my word. We are done.” Peyton slams the door as she leaves to her favorite bar.
The thought of never seeing Peyton again took a moment to sink in, but when it did, Holly felt her chest cave in. As upset as she was with the other female, there was no denying how much she still loved her. Even if they were never going to be together again, she couldn’t stomach the thought of never having her in her life. She stared at the front door, Peyton’s words echoing in her head. “You promised me you’d stay, that you’d never hurt me. But you did.” Without wasting another second, Holly grabbed her car keys off of the foyer table and walked out to the SUV, slamming the front door behind her. There was only one place Peyton would be on her way to right now, and if Holly had her way, she was going to get there before Peyton did.

“You’re implying it. When I met you, I thought I had found the person that I was going to spend the rest of my life with. I was done. So all the girls, and all the bars, and all the obvious daddy issues, who cared? Because I was done. You left me. You chose her. You have someone else. Yes, I’m sleeping around. Why the hell do you even care? I am done with this. I did what I had to do to move on from you. I could care less about what people think about me. They always have something to say about me. You don’t get to protect me anymore. You’re not my girlfriend.” There was some sort of dull throb in her chest, but it passed when she finished through as tears strung her eyes. “Can I leave now?”
“And in some sick, twisted way, did you think sleeping around is going to make me regret leaving you? I loved you, I did, I really did, but that was then and this is now,” Holly retorted, the tone of her voice stern and cold. “I don’t care, and I’m not trying to protect you,” the dirty blonde lied. “I’m just sick of feeling humiliated. There aren’t many people who don’t know about you and I, and having everyone tell me how disgusting and shameless my ex is really getting on my nerves. I don’t want to be associated with you.” Holly’s words were flowing out of her mouth quicker than she'd hoped. She couldn’t process what she was saying until after she’d already said it. She knew she was being harsh, but she couldn’t stop. “You can definitely leave, I hope and stay gone.”
“So, I brought you here because I have a proposal for you,” Josie began, quickly contemplating the proper way to execute her rather drastic suggestion. “The amusement park closes at exactly ten o’clock, the employees clock out at ten fifteen and it’s left unattended until nine the next morning. So ––” she bit her lip, exhaling a hesitant breath, “what do you say we break in?”
Sara smiled and shook her head, in no way shocked by her friend’s risky proposition. Everyone knew the Bushkill amusement park was haunted; there were stories — urban legends in fact — that anyone who attempted to go there after eleven never made it to sunrise. Over sixty years ago, a deranged man opened fire in the middle of the park, killing hundreds before turning the gun on himself. The city tore down the park and rebuilt it twenty years after the massacre, ultimately moving on from the tragedy, but the rumors of it being haunted began shortly after. Apparently, rides would start and stop on their own, you could hear children laughing, and some even said they saw ghosts. Seeing if any of this was true did seem a little interesting. "I can't believe I'm saying this," Sara replied, laughing softly. "But I'm in."
Sara groaned as she and a few other shoppers watched the thunderstorm that had started just seconds beforehand. Target’s entrance was essentially blocked by a small group of people, including Sara, that were all attempting to figure out a way to run to their cars without getting soaked. Today was supposed to be the first beautiful day of the year after an excruciatingly long winter. Every weather forecast predicted an almost 100% chance of clear skies, but it ended up being a lie. A dirty, heartbreaking lie. She’d planned to reward herself with a relaxing day in which she did nothing but sunbathe and sip Piña coladas on the very expensive beach chair she’d just bought, and now her plans were ruined. All there was left to do at this point was go home, throw on her PJ’s, and watch Grey’s Anatomy all day. Seemingly a simple task, she’d unfortunately parked on the opposite side of where she was standing, and there was no way she’d come out of the battle with the rain unscathed. She was going to get drenched. She let out a defeated sigh, began pushing her cart, and ran to her truck. The rain was cold, and it had no mercy on poor Sara, her clothes and hair being no match for that damned storm. Once she got up to her vehicle, she quickly popped her trunk and threw the beach chair in it, nearly damaging it from moving so fast, and closed it behind her, almost hopping to the driver’s side of the SUV. As she got in, she noticed a person beside her, who looked just as pathetic and wet as she was, banging on their car door. Normally, she’d mind her business, drive off and carry on with her day, but a mix of amusement and curiosity took over. “Everything okay over there?”
“I think it’s an absolutely ludicrous idea that beauty only fits in one box. You look at history, look at who are our most beautiful, iconic women in the world and they’re all different shapes and sizes and colors and heights. It doesn’t matter what measurement is around our thigh, it matters what you put out into the world. It matters how many times a day you smile, and are you good to the people in your life. Are you good to the people you work with? Are you good to your family and your friends? Are you good to your community? Those are the things that make a person beautiful.
Grayson had gone to numerous college parties, they lasted all night, literally, into the early hours of the morning, and they were endearing in a way, the ability to drink as much as you want and hardly remember the night before; he knew how it could be addictive, the want to know the people that hosted them, Grayson was well known at the college, almost a recluse when it came to his mentality. People wanted him at the parties but he never showed. Emily, on the other hand was in his class, they were both studying law and he was grateful at the fact that so many smart people could act like blithering idiots in their down time. Hearing someone else walk into the kitchen he had watched her pour the contents into a cup before he smirked, shaking his head as he poured more into his glass and took a sip. “I feel a bit above it,” he replied, he hadn’t gone to parties in high school – though, he was feeling like he hadn’t missed out on much.
The mix of the three beers she’d had earlier in the night and the red wine wasn’t a kind one, as Sara felt it all hit her at once the more she sipped from the glass. She wasn’t much of a drinker, she barely made it through one glass of wine on most nights, and was having a hard time holding in the uncontrollable giggles that were interrupting her speech. “I share that same sentiment,” she said, smiling up at the male. “It’s all so juvenile. We’re all future lawyers and like, psychologists, biologists and what have you — and here we are, partaking in the same games my seventeen year old sister and her friends are playing.”
“Christ I need a cigarette,” Grayson had muttered under his breath; parties were not his thing, he hated attending them, it all seemed rather pointless to him going to them considering people made asses out of themselves, but half of his class was here and he figured he needed a decent night out. He grabbed a beer out of the fridge, opening it and taking a drink from it. He stood in the kitchen now as the group started to set up beer pong.
Sara was ready to call it a night; the party her best friend insisted on throwing was taking a turn for the worse. Everyone was gearing up to play beer pong, and a group of guys to the left of her were starting a line for the keg they'd brought. The night was technically young — it was barely 1 am — but the young woman had had enough for one evening, and this was definitely not her scene. She almost headed for the door until she spotted Emily, the friend responsible for the party, giggling with a few random guys she'd never seen before tonight. Though there were other friends of Emily's at the party, all of them were just as drunk as she was, and Sara didn't want to wake up tomorrow to the news that her friend had blacked out and gotten raped or worse, all because she wasn't there to keep an eye on her. She let out a sigh and crept to the kitchen, remembering that there was a bottle of Pinot Noir on the counter. Upon arriving to the kitchen, she spotted an unfamiliar face. After she poured some of the red intoxicant into one of Emily's obnoxiously large wine glasses, she turned over to face the handsome stranger. "Not joining in on the festivities?"

“Excuse you, Taco Bell is a magical place.”
“A magical, vomit inducing place with meat that looks like it came straight out of a prolapsed anus. I suppose it wouldn't kill me to go, but I'm not ordering anything.”
To those who still care:
I’m officially back after an unexpected hiatus. My work schedule has made it easier to juggle both work, school, and leisure time, so of course, my muse is at an all time high. I’m currently adding a new character, and both Holly and Sonya are available now, so I guess all that’s left to do is find some qt’s to write with/love down/become obsessed with, and run into the (hopefully open) arms of my babies. :’)
“I vote we go on a late night Taco Bell run.”
"I'm afraid I vote no on Proposition Dog Food. That's almost as bad as suggesting we go to McDonald's."
“You left me. You chose her. I’m all glued back together now. I make no apologies for how I chose to repair what you broke. You don’t get to call me a whore.”
"If using my loss of interest in you as an excuse to sleep around brings you any sort of solace, be my guest — really, do whatever you want. 'Whore' never came out of my mouth, I simply called you out on what I've been told and now witnessed myself. It'd be great for the both of us and our reputations if you carried yourself with a little more class, but we both know I can't force you to do it. Besides, respecting yourself was never your forte."
This was it, the heart pounding moment that the both of them had dreamed for. So many thoughts and conversations were filling up his mind and he couldn’t stop moving around. As the bus stopped and the door finally swung open, Brett was already on his feet with his bag swung over his shoulder. He sent a quick text to Holly letting her know that he had arrived and was now waiting by a lamppost.
Holly’s fingers trembled a bit as she typed a simple “Okay.” in response to Brett’s text. The dainty blonde sauntered across the terminal, scanning her surroundings for the familiar face she’d only seen on her laptop monitor. Other couples and families were reuniting around her, tons of laughter, crying and smiles filling the warm April air. Her jade orbs glistened over when she finally saw Brett, standing by the lamppost dressed in his Army Greens. A nervous smile worked its way across her face as she walked towards him, every step feeling heavier than the previous one. “You’re here,” she said, her soft voice shaking. “I can’t believe you’re actually here.” She threw her arms around his neck, a grin taking place of her closed mouth smile. “I’m so happy to you made it!”
voyevr
Holly’s stomach felt like it was attempting to digest itself as she stood and waited at the terminal. Any moment now, the man she’d been managing a long distance romance with was going to walk through, and their eyes would meet for the first time. All of the phone calls, evening Skype sessions that lasted well into the early morning hours, texts and letters were leading up to this. She anxiously watched and waited, six o’clock slowly approaching.
Dakota’s head snapped at the sound of someone calling out to her. She recognized the face immediately. “Stand you up? Never.” The brunette smirked a cigarette bouncing between her lips. Her fingers gripped the edge of the filter as she took another drag and removed it from her mouth. The smoke billowed out the side of her smile as the woman took a few steps towards Holly. “So what’s the verdict Judge Judy?” A singular sculpted eyebrow cocked at the girl, Holly’s friends had continued walking ahead without the small woman. “You gonna let me buy you a drink?” Her shoulder pressed against the brick structure that served as a club, lifting the cigarette to her lips once more taking a short drag.
The blonde let out a breathy laugh. Seeing the dark-haired beauty fully dressed and off the clock made her skittish. She was no longer a client; the realization that they were two strangers who'd simply shared an intimate moment that Dakota probably shared with twenty different men a night. Feeling special over something that Holly assumed was routine for the other woman was foolish. Holly narrowed her eyes towards her friends, who were laughing and carrying on in the parking lot, most of them too drunk get in their car without the designated driver's assistance, and then looked back at Dakota. Her brain was hard at work, trying to come up with an excuse as to why she shouldn't let Dakota treat her to a drink; however, her heart was working just a little faster, lust taking the lead in the battle going on in her entire body. She smirked and gently took Dakota's cigarette out of her mouth and put them between her own lips. "I suppose," she muttered before taking a drag. "Fair warning — I'm a lightweight."
