I’m feeling a strong urge to read this evening and to share a message about the current energy. I have been asked a lot about the planetary retrograde situation. As many of you know, there are currently four planets (Saturn, Venus, Mercury, and Jupiter) in retrograde. Pluto will be going retrograde later in the month as well. I am not an astrologer and there are many fabulous resources on the internet who have written detailed articles and or recorded helpful videos on FaceBook, Youtube, and their own personal websites. I encourage you to seek them out if you would like more information. I remarked to a friend earlier this week that the energy for this time period feels uncharacteristically positive. Not that there won’t be difficult situations that come up, but the overall tone of the period is one that will result in positive rewards for those who have done the work necessary for progress. This work has taken years. It is not a fly by night thing. However, those who have focused really hard in the past few years will undoubtedly have noticed a period of deep, dark reflection over the last four or more months. This is followed by almost rapid energy of progress and clarity after the beginning of the Venus retrograde on March 4th. If you feel like this applies to you, don’t get discouraged during the retrograde period. Focus on a positive outcome and one will come to you. I heard or read another reader (sorry, I don’t remember who said it) mention that they feel that sometimes the “bad luck” brought on by people during these retrograde periods is a result of their own negative outlook and they manifest this into their lives. Keep this in mind. Many people spend time manifesting the positive aspects of their lives and they forget that they can easily manifest the negative aspects as well. For tonight’s reading, I am using the Oracle of Shadows and Light by Lucy Cavendish. I will post one photo of the spread and I will be moving from left to right, starting with the card in the lower left-hand corner. This is the shadow card. The shadow card is the Sewer Mermaid card which brings a message about our own worthiness and reminds us that no part of us is “less than” that of another person. I mention keeping your thoughts positive and not blocking your positive manifestations with negative thought. This card is reiterating another important part of that; understanding that you are worthy and deserving of the positive things you want to unfold in your life! If you have spent that last few years working through clearing karma and sorting out the underlying themes of your life (meaning at any time in the last few years you’ve ever thought or said, “what did I do in a past life to get put into this situation I’m currently in?,”) then this is for you. I strongly feel that getting to know your worth and value is one of the final steps before starting a new beginning. Embrace this part of the process. Wear it. Own it. Love it. The first card of the spread is Autumn is My Last Chance. The card begs us not to lose hope. The message of self-worth and self-love is dominant through this energy. No doubt for many of you the main obstacle on the journey of the past couple of years is the ability to love yourself, unconditionally. The lessons have been: not seeking approval outside of ourselves, loving yourself first, and paying close attention to what you allow into your energy and your space. Lost any friends lately? Did you get rid of any toxic family members? Finding that you don’t vibe so well with your co-workers? Perhaps you lost a spouse during the process…I’d be interested to hear if you found yourself when you lost some people and situations that no longer served you. Keep the faith. The process will be worth it. It is always darkest before dawn. If you look closely at the horizon, you can see the faint glimmer of sunrise. The next two cards, A Clockwork Pumpkin and Eclipse Mermaid, have a joint message: this is a time period of powerful breakthroughs and major shifts in energy. This speaks very strongly to the Saturn retrograde energy that will be with us through August. This is a time of trusting your own intuition and surrendering. Although I strongly feel the season will be mostly positive (again, for those who have done the work) it will not be without the bumps and discomfort that accompany change and growth. Many of the readers on YouTube and other domains have been speaking strongly of “going with the flow” and if you follow any of them you will have heard the word “surrender” numerous times in the last month or so. I could not agree more. Discomfort doesn’t always have to mean that the results will be negative. There is an aspect of surrendering to pain that allows for joyous outcomes. Especially when we are starting a new beginning. Listen to what your inner voice says about things. Ask your heart what it would like to do. Look for the signs. Do what you know is best and right for you. Trust yourself. The next two cards, Death and the Maiden and Mend-a-Broken Heart Fairy, also share a joint message. I tend to think of any type of death themed card as a positive in a reading. When things die, fall away, or leave our lives, they make space for something else. There is a power in not being afraid of doors closing. When the door slams, try the others in the hallway because one (or two or three) of them is ready to open. The card employs two aspects: death, the soul sucking parasite and the maiden the innocent whose life is being drained. With this energy, we in our physical form, occupy both roles. The parasite is us and the soul that we have been draining is our own. There will be some deep work this cycle where we own up to our treatment of ourselves. Again, I do not feel like this will be anywhere near the darkest parts of the work that has already been done. It will be the final phase. This is where we mend our own broken hearts. Who broke your heart? It was you. Apologize and forgive yourself. The final card of the spread is Fairy of the Green World. I want to move past the superficial meaning of the card. Yes, the Earth is great. Save it. Help it. Conserve, plant trees, recycle, all the good stuff we should be doing for the one and only place we have to live. I want you to remember two things with this message, the first is that you belong here and there is a place for you. You wouldn’t be here if that wasn’t the case. The second is to take care of yourself. Your body, mind, and soul. Seeing the importance of where you fit in the world, your life purpose, and how to love, nurture, and care for yourself will be the outcome of this energy; if you let it. Will you surrender? I hope that some or all of this reading resonates with you. This is a general reading of the current energy. For more information, please contact me directly. Please feel free to leave comments and feedback.
