i wish gender bending was real - many times, i’ve thought it’d be nice to be a handsome and tall man. but, if my current body were taken into account - short, slightly chubby, average face - i think realistically, i’d be unattractive as a man.

i found a manga artist who loves the concept of gender bending, though, and i was a little bothered at first that they would depict girls as very short and petite while the boys would look tall and very different from their female counterparts - when genderbent, the characters wouldn’t take on traits that their original gender had (ex. if a man had muscles and changed into a woman, they wouldn’t have their muscles anymore). it still bothers me.

at the same time, however, it did give me some relief because now i think it’s okay to imagine an unrealistic version of myself - a young, handsome, tall man - without taking my current self into account.
