Aria's surgery went well! Her teeth were completely deteriorated and barely even had roots left, and she had more tartar than she had teeth, which was cutting open her mouth from the inside. No more! She now has one(1) tooth left. What more do you need.
But! I was told it would be 500-600€ – turns out the guy that told me that is new, and very optimistic.
It cost 675€
I was able to pay for now because I pay my rent by the end of the month, so I had the money, but I will not be able to afford rent now.
If you have anything to spare, please consider commissioning me. If not, I'd appreciate it if you could at least share this. I'm eternally grateful that my baby is okay and that really was the most important part by far, but we do need to like. Eat. Sometimes.
If you don't want my art but still want to feed me you can also just send me money! Just lmk I'd be delighted to give you my paypal. Or my bank account if you're in Germany. Or my soul.
She's the love of my life! Aria is 16 years old, loves to snuggle, and her favorite thing in the whole world is ham. I adopted her in February from my local shelter and she's my perfect little snugglebug. She's never once bitten or scratched; all she does is purr and head bonk and want to be spooned.
Tl;dr: cat in pain, money gone, please if you can, buy an art
Details (and more cat pictures!) under the cut
Unfortunately, while she was "perfectly healthy" when I got her, she's now up to 5 different medications for various things that she needs daily (thyroids, kidneys, digestive issues, extremely high blood pressure with seizures, and a cyst on her face [which is benign, at least]). And now her remaining teeth are causing her immense pain too, so much that she screams in pain whenever I touch her mouth (which I do need to do to give her her pills). On her left side, her teeth have already been removed before I got her (which is why her lil tongue often slips out), so it makes sense that the ones she still has will have to go too, but it's a high risk surgery due to her age and kidney problems.
Bottom line: they want 600€, which I do not have. I'm disabled and unable to have a job, so I rely on disability money, which is not a lot as I live alone and also need to pay for rent and everything else. Rehoming my cat is not an option – even if I could do it emotionally (which I could never, she's my baby daughter. I'm autistic and she's my special interest), no one would take her. She's almost 17, black, has scarred and patchy fur due to a car accident she had once, mild incontinence, and so so many health issues. She was in the shelter for 7 months before I took her in, no one else would want her, even though she's a perfect little baby. I HAVE to pay for this, and hope she makes it through and recovers well.
I do apologize for using my free blaze on this, I know we all hate seeing posts begging for money, but if you could spare anything to commission me or at least share this, it would mean the world to me. I'm not asking for free money, I will art for you!
Lastly, here's more cat pictures for your enjoyment!
Upon hearing that I’d been accepted into ThoughtBubble Festival year, I celebrated by buying some Posca markers! To test these out, I did a five-colour doodle of a Koffing on an A7 scrap of watercolour paper, and decided to turn it into a series! Here are the first four that I depicted—because everyone loves Team Rocket, right?
i did this the other night and wanted to do The Scream but my family was in the next room and it was midnight. You can like see me processing whether or not to do it.
I just learned yesterday that Pikachu, my favorite Pokemon, was originally designed not by Ken Sugimori (he only finalized the design), but by a female graphic designer named Atsuko Nishida.
Also after googling her, I found out that she’s also designed Sylveon–another favorite PKMN of mine. She’s also illustrated some very pretty Pokemon cards!!
Thank you Ms. Nishida! :-) May you get more credit and love for your contribution to the Pokemon franchise.
Here’s some other Pokemon she’s designed, for anyone curious:

and not to derail this post into anything overtly political, but: If it weren’t for a woman in the gaming industry, we wouldn’t have freakin’ Charizard. I feel like that’s something more people should know about!
