Cricketkit's apprentice ceremony

Freezestar called a MoonClan meeting. When everyone had settled into a semicircle, Sunlight jumped onto the meeting tree stump.

— As you know, Yewheart will soon be stepping down as medicine cat and moving to the elder's den, – the medicine cat said. — Yes, if I so choose, I could remain the only medicine cat, but not forever."

— Cricketkit, come to us. – the leader called to him.

Cricketkit emerged from the crowd of his fellow clanmates and sat down in front of a tree stump. His eyes were full of happiness.

— Cricketkit, are you ready to become Sunlight's apprentice? – asked Freezestar.

— I'm ready! – the gray kitten meowed confidently.

— Then on the night of the Half Moon, you will go to the Moonstone to appear before StarClan and the other medicine cats, – said Sunlight, jumping down from the stump and moving closer to the gray kit.

— From this day on, you will be called Cricketpaw! – Freezestar solemnly proclaimed.

Sunlight touched her nose to her apprentice's.

— Congratulations, Cricketpaw.

The clanmates loudly shouted the name of the new medicine cat apprentice.
