Yui smiled. “I’m pretty lucky I get to be able to keep the ability to use magic.” She spoke before chuckling. She began to charge firebolt. A small fireball began circling around Yui’s head. “How’s this for proof?”

Kamukura blinked in surprise at the fireball circling her, and for a split second, his expression wasn’t completely blank as it had been a moment ago. His expression quickly returned to normal, and he studied the fireball, as if trying to find the trick behind it. “How does that work?”

“It’s kind of a weird one. Though I can show you proof that it exists later, if you need any.” Yui smiled before she began explaining. “It’s a world where magic, gods, and goddesses exist. Some of the other people who visit the world call it a fantasy life, where you could practically do what ever you want.”

A world where one could do whatever they want that was inhabited by gods and goddesses? That did remind him of some kind of fantasy, but without proof, that was all it was to Kamukura. “You’ll have to show me proof of this world, it sounds too...fictional.”

[❀]— The tears continued along with some sniffles. She had finally realized she was alone.

「Wh..what about you? Why are you a-alone?」she asked through soft hiccups.

“Me? I chose to be alone, it’s easier for me that way. For you, I don’t think being alone will be a benefit.”

She was just a child after all, one that probably would struggle.

Silent staring. “Wait, what?”

“Caught your interest Did I?” Yui seemed proud of herself. “What if I told you there was another world out there, one different than this one?”

“What is this other world?” Even if he had slight interest, he was now trying to decide if she was making it up or not.

“Well… Soooorry I’m not that good at conversing. I mostly hang out with people in another world, so I really don’t know a good topic.”

“You...hang out with people in another world? What do you mean by that?”

“How boring...Surely you can come up with a more interesting topic than this.”

[❀]— 「Th..that….I」and there went the tears, spilling down on her cheeks. 「I-if Daddy a-ain’t comin’ back then what d-do I do now?? I want my Daddy!!」

“No matter how much you want your father, he won’t return. As for what you will do now, I’d say you have two choices. Either you sit here and die, or you attempt to live, without your father.”

[❀]— 「B-but Daddy p-promised…」she blubbered, tears threatening to spill at any moment.

She didn’t want to believe that he won’t come back.

“It doesn’t matter if he promised he would return. He’s gone for good. Do you realize what that means?””

Kamukura could tell she could cry any second now, but he didn’t stop. She wouldn’t be the first one he said these kinds of things to.

[❀]— Yotsuba twiddled with her fingers for a bit, suddenly getting shy. Who was this man anyway? Daddy said not to talk to strangers…but she needed someone. And at this point, Anyone.

「A day…I think.」Yotsuba replied.

“...Stop waiting for him. He’s not coming back.” He suddenly stated bluntly.

She wasn’t even certain how long it had been, it was possible it had been longer than a day. There was no way he would be returning, especially when the world was in such a horrible state.

          “Baking? Acrobatics? Swimming?”

At this time, she was simply listing off whatever talent came to mind. There had to be something that he couldn’t do.

“Yes, all those as well.”

Kamukura answered, but was quickly getting bored of answering her, even if she had only asked about four talents so far.

[❀]— Yotsuba finally bothered to turn her head and face the man talking to her.

「Daddy left to get something…he told me to wait here…he hasn’t come back in a long time.」

He wasn’t surprised to hear this. A parent leaving their child for a long period of time and not returning, it was obvious what happened.

“How long have you been waiting?”

[❀]— As if the child didn’t hear the man who spoke to her, she continued staring into space, with a blank expression. When she finally acknowledged the stranger, she replied, but without even turning her head to face him.

「I’m waiting for Daddy.」

“You’re waiting for your father?”

That would certainly explain why she was out in the open alone. He rarely saw children, most of them couldn’t survive, especially after their parents died.

“Where did your father go?” He asked, his tone remained as unconcerned as ever. Whatever happened to this child's father didn't truly matter to him.

“It’s dangerous to stand out in the open, don’t you know that?” He wasn’t at all concerned about the stranger, but it was odd to see someone putting themselves in obvious danger.

          “I get the feeling that I might not have been better before.” Tania sighs, hands on her hips. “I’ve a suspicion that the reason they wont tell me is due to the fact that I’m probably a much better person now that I was before. Those that have stuck around for this new version of me, at least.”

“That would make sense...If they don’t tell you, then that would answer that question.” Kamukura could already feel his interest fading, which disappointed him. He tried to ignore his expected boredom and continue talking. “Did you ever want the memories of who you were before back?”
