Do you have any specific recommendation for books about cats?

This book should be an absolute must-read. The Cat Whisperer by Mieshelle Nagelshneider. She does a phenomenal job explaining cat behavior for those who may be in the know, or those who may have absolutely no idea. It’s an entertaining book to say the least, well written and was probably the most enjoyable book I had to read for school. Each chapter is written in such a way that if you’re having a specific issue, you can flip right to the chapter and use that. But all together it’s just an amazing book that seriously every cat guardian should have.

Here’s a fantastic book about how to bridge the gap between what cats want, and what humans want. Some people are okay with having litter boxes out in the open (like me), but other people aren’t so keen on it. This book handles a lot of issues and gives creative solutions to your most common cat problems.

So while this is only four, it’s a good start. If you’re looking for more, honestly stick with your Jackson Galaxy, Mieshelle Nagelshneider, and Pam Johnson-Bennett for fantastic behavioral advise.

Here’s a short book if you’re interested in learning clicker training. Keep in mind that this book is written by an animal trainer, not a cat behaviorist, so it’s important to make your own informed decisions when she discusses things like behaviors.

And this one is if you’re going HARD into feline behavior. This one is meaty, but it has fantastic scientific backing with tons of case studies if you want to go HARD into cats and cat behavior. It is, at the heart of it, a text book. But I can’t deny that I’ve learned a bunch from it. It’s not the most entertaining read, but it’s informative as heck and absolutely worth the price if you’re seriously into feline behavior.

Please help my friend Haley’s Cat

My friend Haley is an absolute angel. She always takes in unwanted or rehomed animals and gives them the best care and welcomes them as family in her own home. She is an amazing animal mom and something devastating happened to her cat, Eevee. She will need extensive medical care after this accident and I am praying we can get this around so she can get the financial help she needs. Haley recently lost one of her dear gargoyle geckos and I would hate to see her lose her sweet cat as well. Please spread this around if you can. 

“ Earlier today 5/28/18 we were moving furniture to the dumpster, during which we heard a cry and hadn’t realized until too late,  my 6 year old cat,  Eevee was stuck up inside it. She was immediately rushed to the hospital, her paw pads are deattached and her leg is ripped open exposing broken bones and tendons, upon further look they discovered low white blood cell count and internal bruising and holes. She is undergoing her first surgery tonight but it will be a tough battle with many more to come facing amputation as well. She’s always been a fighter and I want to keep fighting with her, while accidents happen I feel horribly guilty for this incident and want to do what I can to help make things right for her and give her the best life she deserves. She’s not ready to give up and neither  am I,  any help at all is grately appreciated. From the bottom of my heart,  thank you. “

Update: Just got an update from the hospital

Her right leg has no tendons left and will need to be amputated, her left leg is too soon to tell if its able to save

She finishing up surgery now, making sure she doesn’t get an infection is going to be the most crucial part of the process. Good thoughts for eevee please
