Debunking the Lynz Way misinfo carrd
by now I'm sure everyone has seen the carrd "debunking" Lynz Way's problematic behavior. I want to tell you that everything in that carrd is PR and image restoration.
I used to be a fan of MSI and more specifically Lynz. I got into the band long before her last name was Way. I saw them live in 2006. I bought into the lie that it was all an act and nobody in msi actually believed anything that they wrote about. I used to cosplay as Lynz and dance around to MSI albums in my room.
I'm telling you all of this to say I understand the knee-jerk reaction to say she's changed or that it was all rumors. but I saw her racism first hand, as many other fans have.
a lot of what this carrd does is inventing reasons for Lynz's behavior that she never gave. ironically stripping her of any personhood in order to defend her and encourage readers to do the same.
I'm going to do my best to talk about each point this carrd says they've debunked and prove that this is nothing more than damage control made by a Lynz fan that wants to flatten the conversation to make it seem like she is no more problematic than anybody in MCR
Lynz defend Jimmy Urine
yes, she did:
the carrd argues that because Lynz said this before the lawsuit was made public she wasn't defending him. but the original question was not about specific accusations, but behavior at shows that she witnessed and took part in. The defense here is misogyny, victim blaming, and rape apology. it argues that because Jimmy's victims didn't take him to court what they experienced wasn't assault.
"this exchange is NOT about the p.dophilic sa accusations of jimmy, this is about him kissing fans at shows and never checking whether or not they were legal. that is still gross. but that is nowhere near the same as her defending him against a legitimate legal accusation of sexual relations with a minor."
the author using the phrase "legitimate legal accusation" further proves my point on how they see Jimmy's victims. they're not denying that it happened, but they are saying that what happened wasn't assault because the cops weren't involved.
MSI knew they were performing all ages shows and there would be minors in the audience. Jimmy created a situation where he was engaging in this kind of behavior. he had the option of not assaulting fans. and there are countless stories of fans saying they were touched and kissed by Jimmy against their will and without their consent. idk why the author is acting like this was unavoidable. Lynz is saying to consider the source about something the author admits took place but dismisses and downplays. to use legality as a defense is victim blaming.
I don't trust Jessicka Addams as far as I can throw her, but to further dismiss abuse as a harassment campaign and rumors only further hurts Jimmy's victims. it diminishes valid criticism about sexual assault into internet drama. nobody should rely on the words of Jessicka, but she had nothing to do with the question Lynz was asked. she was only brought up by Lynz to deflect:
Lynz demanding victims out themselves to her when she has proven not to be a safe space is insensitive and unreasonable. based on her "considered the source" tweet why would any victim think they would be believed?
Lynz sharing resources on how to spot grooming online means nothing when she knew what Jimmy was doing. to me it's similar to somebody committing a crime and then helping solve it.
Lynz not being in the band when a certain victim was abused is besides the point. Jimmy's predatory behavior was an open secret. Lynz talks a good game of faux feminism when she is able to control the narrative and is in a space where her fans blindly agree with whatever she says.
I'm also going to point out that Steve Righ's wife knew about Jimmy abusing a minor and downplayed it years before the lawsuit. it is niave to think that everyone in msi knew Jimmy is an abuser but somehow Lynz didn't:

I'm not going to bring up Lynz's SA becauae I feel like that was used by the author in a gross way to manipulate readers and to excuse her behavior. I stand with all victims, even if I disagree with them on a fundamental level.
Lynz blocked fans who asked her to speak out about blm
Lynz posted a black square and went into damage control when fans were asking Gerard to use his platform and questioning Lynz about MSI's racist lyrics. I was willing to give Lynz the benefit of the doubt at the time until I saw the post:

the author makes a lot of assumptions that Lynz was being harassed by fans in bad faith. but when I was active on twitter almost everyone was glazing her. Lynz blocked the fan 6 months later, after the dust had settled with her. but what this carrd intentionally does not bring up is when a fan asked Lynz to say ACAB and she had a very white privilege response about shoplifting lipstick. she also shamelessly plugs her art:

she never actually says ACAB, but is still praised for her inaction. Lynz never addresses her bands long history of racism either. Because at the end of the day, Lynz is a rich white woman who will never have to worry about police brutality. it can be a marketing opportunity for her.
yes, resources Lynz shared on her twitter are still up. but she was mass deleting her replies where people questioned her history of racism. all of that is lost and you only see what Lynz wants you to. so when someone calls Lynz's racism into question fans can point to these tweets just like this author does.

Lynz lied about being Indian. the assumption is that she did this to ease tension about being in a racist band. similar to 'the black friend' argument. it was later confirmed by Lynz's sister and mom that she wasn't adopted, that she doesn't have a grandma from Kashmir, and that she's not Indian.
equating Lynz's claim that she is Indian to Gerard allegedly being Spanish is intentionally dishonest. He's not claiming to be Hispanic like Lynz claimed to be Asian.

Lynz being held accountable doesn't debunk anything like this carrd claims to be doing. I'm not convinced the author knows what the word means
Lynz slept with Steve Righ while he was married

recently, Lucinda has gone down a right wing pipeline and is very defensive whenever anyone is critical of MSI. which is understandable since she is Steve's wife. But she's contradicted herself several times throughout the years and seems to change her story depending on who is asking. to the surprise of nobody she's much nicer to her husband's fans
but claiming the only proof is the art Lynz posted for one of her galleries is a lie (a common theme for the author) the screenshots I posted have been circulating for years. it was confirmed by an ex-friend of Lynz's that not all of the pieces used for her shitty teen exhibit were from her teenage years. and one was even stolen and Lynz just slapped her signature on it:

idgaf about Lynz's family drama. it's more faith projection. the author isn't debunking anything. it's the word of private people vs the word of a woman with a massive platform and a rabid fanbase.
neither her sister or mom are/were public figures and getting into their personal lives is weird. what they choose to share about Lynz on their own socials is up to them. I'm not gonna comb through the profiles of private people because that's weird af.

this is unfalsifiable. neither Lynz or Mikey will ever talk about what went down with this blog and have seemed to have moved on. but IF it was written by Lynz she spent more time trashing and body/slut shaming another woman than 'exposing' Mikey. The blog is more about the woman Mikey allegedly cheated with, what her body looked like, and what a horrible person she is. so, the comment about mistreating another woman is performative pearl clutching.
we can see that Lynz is a misogynist from the way that she talks about other women and girls. let's be so fucking for real and not pretend she's some woke feminist icon. her tweets at the time were suspicious and that's why people think she made that blog. and even if she didn't make that blog why was she on twitter calling another woman a pig? š¤Ø

final point: you canāt separate Lynz from mcr
Yes, you can. she is not a member of MCR.
this carrd does the absolute most to separate Lynz from MSI but wants us to think of her like an honorary member of My Chemical Romance. Lynz being Mary-Sue'd into MCR lore doesn't make me or anyone else a hypocrite for not liking her.
She didn't say to consider the source as an ambassador of My Chemical Romance. She said this as the bassist of mindless self indulgence. She defended her bandmate, not Gerard Way's friend. Lynz's behavior is not a reflection of a band that she is not in.

whatever happened to Lynz not being extension of her husband? do we only use that line when it's convenient? liking Gerard does not mean you're signing on to liking everybody that they are associated with. by this logic we should all be listening to Joe Rogan's podcast. it's a very stupid and childish argument.

when Gerard dedicates songs to Lynz, goes on tangents about her, and makes kissy faces at her he is doing PR. and this is not me saying Gerard is never allowed to talk about their wife, but he doesn't go on stage and declare his love to Lynz in a vacuum. because fans see this online or at mcr shows and think:
"what Lynz did wasn't that bad"
"fans only hate her because she's with Gerard and they're not"
"it's all rumors made by misogynistic fangirls!"
and everyone forgets that Lynz profited from racist slurs, white supremacy, and the abuse of teenage girls
and that is intentional
