Two years ago a few things in my life changed:a new job that didn’t stress me out and a new home with a lot of space. In spite of these obviously positive things my creativity dissipated and I haven’t felt the urge to create anything like the piece above.

I now have another new job with a lot more responsibility and stress and I am beginning to feel, what I think, are the first few twinkles of inspiration. All of this did get me thinking though; I am feeling like my creativity stems from a place of semi-negativity, whereby as long as I have moderate to high stress levels in my day job I will be able to produce something creatively at other times. I’m unsure how I feel about this at the moment, i guess just being aware of it is enough for the time being.

So, I noticed that I have developed an appreciation of green. Generally I would have said it was my least favourite colour (I have a phobia of something green) and yet.........I can’t stop working with it!!! I’m going to blame this phenomenon on a fairly recent obsession with teal; I think where blue meets green is so pretty and it’s allowed me to enjoy shades that I previously would have dismissed or found unappealing.
