WHY do they always flee from him? Why did they always cower in fear upon his arrival like a wolf walking into a flock of sheep ? Mankind didn’t stop, stop and think about the other party. How it left them stranded, abandoned and trapped, alone on this rock. Mankind is disgusting and selfish to their very core. It only caused him to keep walking forward in search for that answer.
“ Jesus Christ. ” Blasphemy gleefully slipped through lips, it did not burn him to a shrivelling heap of ashes like the men and their crosses of trash metal and ‘blessed water’ foretold it to. It was a LAUGHING STOCK and thus such a holy item swung around his own neck, a reminder that their ‘GOD’ had lied, that their ‘GOD’ was a dirty phoney. It was PATHETIC.
“ Kyaaa a random, UNARMED man let me swing this toothpick in my hand like it means something !! ” There is amusement more crystal now, what did she expect sitting on the ground with that thing around her slender wrist would do ? Absolutely nothing. It angered him at first but soon it became nothing but delight and music to his ears.
“ Don’t flatter yourself, what is it with people screaming and falling all over the place ? I never understood that. Never will. ” The game is over now, nor did it even begin to start with, he has no interest in silly games of cat and mouse. Not anymore.
Now he stood infront of the fallen frame, gap now closed between them with ease (thanks to her ‘efforts’ of escaping). He desired her nothing but safety and reassurance that he meant no harm to her – to anyone. Thus no attempts were made to reach out a hand and lift her from the ground. Did she truly deserve his hand after the dramatic display of how pathetic people could be ? How she stabbed his heart immediately ?
“ Why are you so afraid of me ? ” The first, pained question he would ask.
...que? brows furrowed slightly as she looked him over, grip on her cross tightening. she would admit, she may have JUMPED THE GUN here, however, with all the bullcrap she's been put through, who can blame her?...well, he could, apparently, but that was beside the point. she had every RIGHT to be scared...or at least...she would continue to tell herself that.
toothpick...? oh. the rosary. well, that was a bit rude - albeit, what came out of her mouth wasn't much better. "I'M NOT AN IDIOT. iknow crosses & holy water & all those things people would have us believe don't work on the likes of you." it was a SECURITY BLANKET of sorts, & the last thing she had that connected her with her parents. she clutched it because she was scared, not because she thought it would make a difference.
"———i'mclumsy." especially when scared half to death. but that part would remain unsaid. she wasn't the most graceful person in the world, nor was she stupid. just because he wasn't a threat then didn't mean he would stay that way. she was ALONE, with no one to protect her, & if he suddenly turned violent, she would be completely & utterly DOOMED.
"why?" that was easy enough to answer. the girl tugged the collar of her shirt, revealing the faded puncture marks on her shoulder. (was it ares or sabrina who did that? she couldn't remember.) "why do you think? is it really that wrong for me to assume that you're all THE SAME deep down? humans are, so why can't you be?"
