Apparently Fairy Gala will have a rerun on TWST EN! I played through Fairy Gala IF on TWST JP and I think I read through a walkthrough of the original event. But I'm excited to experience it in game! Leona's SSR card for the event is GORGEOUS (★ω★)

I also ADORE flowers so Yuuri's outfit is very obviously inspired by a flower in bloom, specifically the skirt part. I was gonna base it off a camellia flower but uhhh I got lazy the petals of a camellia flower are more rounded orz

Mostly, though I remember thinking about what if Yuuri got roped into the event specifically to help with the outfits...aaaand that spawned ideas for some card lines below lol

"Eh? You want me to fix your uniform? ...Can't you just ask Headmage for a new one? ...Or go to the sewing room?"

14. Assign a fashion aesthetic to this character.

Hmm I'd probably say minimalist and understated yet high quality! I'm not sure if there's a specific aesthetic for that but because she comes from a family of tailors, she naturally seeks out quality in clothing rather than loud colors or whatever is trending. Elegance is something she incorporates more into her own personal style as she gets older and through countless lectures from Vil - while she's still younger, she leans more towards utilitarian and tomboyish styles.

27. What is a color or colors that you think of when you think of this character, be it their canon color(s) or not?

Blues and golds! Specifically a deep midnight blue and bright gold. The kind of image I was thinking of was like the bright warmth of a glittering full moon in a clear night sky (˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶)

Ooh I can never think of something on the spot but because of recency, Maomao from Apothecary Diaries!

20. Which other character is the ideal best friend for this character, the amount of screentime they share doesn't matter?

Boring answer but it'd be Deuce!

Outside of the fact that they'd canonically spend a lot of time together because...well heartshackle gonna heartshackle lol I was thinking about Deuce's hometown event where the townsfolk have decided on who he is despite the fact he's actively trying to be a better person is something Yuuri can relate to.

And most importantly, I feel like the friendship between Deuce, Ace, and Yuuri is the biggest catalyst of her growth in Books 1-3 from being someone more emotionally small and reserved to someone more emotionally honest and bright.

21. If you're a fic writer and have written for this character, what's your favorite thing to do when you're writing for this character? What's something you don't like?

While I'm not a fic writer, I did run an OC rp blog as well as a canon character rp blog for the Tales of fandom years ago! And given it was years ago, my writing skills are extremely rusty. I'm much more used to analytical, report like writing now because of my job than I am with creative writing.

But generally my writing process would be like with any other character I'm writing for. I usually like to reference whatever notes I have for an OC (story lore for a canon character) to make sure I have the characterization right i.e. I wouldn't write Book 1 or Book 2 Yuuri the same way I would write a Book 6 or Book 7 Yuuri, she's gone through too much character growth in between that her behaviors should be different to illustrate that growth.

I also like to put on music in the background! I just find that it sets the emotional tone for me better and I've always been more musically inclined, so having music just helps me translate emotions into words better. Unsurprisingly, I am a notorious playlist creator lol

Something I don't like doing is writing in isolation. While I'd feel quite confident writing introspective pieces for Yuuri, I personally think it's more interesting to explore her dynamics with other characters as a way to learn more about her character. Unfortunately, I'm still a new in the TWST fandom (literally just about to hit six months in the fandom lol), still learning the nuances of all the characters, afraid of mischaracterizing, and I don't have any friends in my circle who are into TWST for me to bounce ideas/talk to with.

Okay I know you’re on vacation (hope you’re having fun!) but I remember the ask about Yuuri getting commissioned for the mermaid lolita dress + Yumeimi generally getting more outfits and where she could be getting them, and I’m just thinking in a universe where they both exist, Yumeimi’s commissioning at least a fraction of her wardrobe from Yuuri. Even if her funds are short, she offers other possible options, like “I can pay half in Thaumarks, and I’ll also make a bento every day for month.”

Kalim was beefing with Floyd 😭 They made up in the end but this is the third or fourth time Kalim bad beef with another mii on the island. It's like whatever suppressed anger he had in the game the writers denied him got redirected into his mii aslkdjhslf

Deuce and Hana (JamiYuuri child that they forced me to think about) were beefing. They were THROWING SHIT at each other. in PUBLIC. Spoilers, Hana did not forgive him so I guess he's an ex-honarary uncle now?? 🥴

🌙 "...Strange...were my scissors always this color...?"

I was super excited when I saw @hanizmiyu TWST fan event because I LOVE the murder mystery genre. Yuuri is a high school student who also works in her family's tailoring shop and she is in the Sakura Server ( ๑‾̀◡‾́) I feel like I don't showcase her tailoring background often enough so I saw the opportunity and took it asdl;jsdlfk

I was also heavily influenced by the Tailor of Enbizaka while drawing this so, for anyone who noticed, the colors I chose for her hakama (red, green, and yellow) are indeed the colors that get referenced in the song! The exception is the blue which is just a nod to one of the primary characters in the song.
