⋆.˚ ☽ .⭒˚Just An Ordinary Birthday⋆.˚ ☾ .⭒˚

a/n: So a tag comment about how avoidant Yuuri is to talk about her previous birthdays from one of her voicelines in her La Bonbonniere card led me to this brainworm. I combined it with my hc that Yuuri and Jamil frequently have late night trysts conversations together so our resident Viper is featured here as well. So this was a nice way to showcase Yuuri's character - while she is quite sweet, she has quite the sense of dry humor. There is more to her than just the bright face of the full moon if you dare to peer into its shadow. And I think it's a nice way to illustrate Jamil and Yuuri's budding relationship too ( ♡˘͈ ᵕ ˘͈) This is a different format than my usual comics because I had a whole script which I actually needed to CUT DOWN to make it more manageable and also just flow better. So this is script interspersed with art that was meant to be a longer comic. Please feel welcome to comment and happy reading!

Jamil and Yuuri mii have been married for 100 days today and they're still soulmates 🥹🥹🥹

I don't normally post art on this side but I my FE posting got me nostalgic so I decided to redraw my FE Sona from back in the day when Fire Emblem Fates released. So yes, she is actually based on my appearance with the exception of eye color and glasses because...I was lazy lol

Originally my FEsona was a Sky Knight (aka a Pegasus Knight) because I really liked the outfit (and this was AFTER all my moots and friends were LITERALLY CHOOSING ARCHER 💀 like...naga save me im scared 😭) but one of my friends actually drew my sona as a witch as soon as the class dropped in Fire Emblem Fates and I really liked her design (●ˇ∀ˇ●)

So I take no credit for the outfit and weapon design, that was all my friend whose design I include below the cut! 💞💞💞

the True Ending involves Yuuri maxing out everyone's social links and it is the strength of those collective bonds is what grants the wish for her to have a full life and future

Remembering the game Coffee Talk and thinking about how I like the idea of a modern au Jamil and Yuuri meeting each other at the same cafe one day in the ungodly hours of the night (the only place open at such an ungodly time) and then they just keep running into each other during around that same time of night but they never see each other during the day.

and thru those repeated encounters they from strangers to acquaintances to friends and finally, when they become lovers they meet each other at last outside of thw bubble they created in that coffee shop, in that liminal space when the world is asleep.

Since a key part of how I imagine their relationship developing in TWST are thru late night sometimes silly sometimes snippy sometimes heartfelt conversations.

also I refuse to believe Jamil sleeps at a reasonable hour - there is not enough time in the day for him to do all the things and clock in a solid 8 hours every night

I was going to scribble something happy but then the sad demons got to me instead blame the new HSR 4.4 update 🤷‍♀️

Her lore update has me needing to rewrite/rethink quite a few story beats for her and I'm still debating how her story "completes". I know some folks like the idea of their Yuu or OC stayingn in TW and graduating with the rest of the cast from NRC, but given her lore, I don't think she would ever make it to graduation with the rest of the first years 💔

I do have a Jamiyuuri one in my brain for funsies, but generally more of my art ideas right now are angst focused than happy ones asdkljsdlkgjf

This is such a good question though, and I apologize for not having a more well thought-out answer! I think it would be interesting if the sun/moon coding shifts for both of them depending on where they are in their own emotional growth journeys 🤔

For Yuuri, I can see her becoming more sun-coded when she completes her arc in the story that is still developing in my head 💦 and grows into someone who can shine brightly on her own. Not because she was wish brought to life by the Moon Princess's dream, but because the life she lived and the choices she made are what make her light her own.

So I think what I mean is that I like the idea if they both naturally lean toward one side or the other but carry aspects of both. Jamil is the sun because he burns brightly with ambition and passion but circumstances force him to hide and play the part of the moon, and there's more to him than meets the eye if you look past the light. And then Yuuri I elaborated on above.

I hope this makes sense because I am more artist than writer and thank you for putting up with my yapping m( _ _ )m
