Emmett had left the book on the table. (HERE). He slipped the casserole dish into the oven and watched through the corner of his eye as Bennett walked to the couch to pick it up.  He followed quietly behind him, watching at Bennett plucked at the carefully wrapped parcel and opened the book.

Emmett took a deep breath and smiled brightly at the sound of Bennett’s voice.  ”Hey honey.” He called back before strolling forward to press a soft kiss on Bennett’s lips.  ”Hey my gorgeous man.  How about you go cleaned up for dinner and while it is cooking, you can read. I even have a brand new book for you. Think you will like it.” This was not out of the ordinary. Emmett was known for collecting books for Bennett, ones he felt his man would enjoy. He then strolled back to the kitchenette to finish preparing the simple pasta dish that he would slip into the oven to bake while Bennett read.

Bennett nodded with a smile. "I'll do that. Be back soon." He leaned in and pecked his man once more before going to the bathroom. He showered himself, making sure to scrub his body good, preparing it to be fresh and clean just like he knew his Dom liked. He picked up the book on the coffee table and sat down on the couch before starting to read for them.

Emmett had to admit he was a little nervous. More so than he expected to be.  He picked up the small parcel for the 20th time.  Then put it down again.  He smoothed his shirt and strolled into the small kitchen area. Am I a lazy traveler?”

The moments from the limo to the airport to the check in station and to their seats on the flight were a blur. Bennett used what little thoughts he had to get Emmett's bags on the right belt along with his own and helping navigate them to the right gate. Bennett went over to the stove and checked the nobs to make sure they were on off…for the millionth time. He was nervous to say the least. He hadn’t left their home together for longer than a night since they moved in and he was a tad weary of doing so now. He went over to the door and stood, facing the condo’s living rooms. He put his hands on his hips and let out a sigh as he tried to think of a way where they could stay home in their cocoon. 

Bennett rain a shaky hand through his hair as he accounted for every little thing he had needed to do. All the lights were off and every appliance was turned off except for his brain. He was wondering how he could talk Emmett out of this, to stay home with him at their house, but he knew how much this meant to his Dom and he was not going to disappoint him.

He was shaken out of his worrying when he heard Emmett’s voice. He looked up with excited eyes as he took a tiny step forward. “I know, babe. But I just love it here. Love this house we’ve built to a home, is all.” He smiled.

But this will be fun. Beach vacation, a beautiful wedding and some time when both of us aren’t working.” he teased lightly.  He was so proud of Bennett working, he loved how well Bennett had settled into their life together. It had been their one area of true nerves, that Bennett wouldn’t be happy with their boring day-to-day lives. Now, contrary to that fear, Bennett seemed nervous about changing any part of that, even for a vacation.

Emmett tucked his computer cord into his backpack and slid up the zipper.  He checked again for his passport and copy of their itinerary. Yup.
