I suppose that Ace did change an entire era before he died, so...
I like the contrast between Dadan's speech to Ace and Jinbe's to Luffy. Both occur after the death of a beloved brother, but where Ace was ready to fight the world even if it killed him, Luffy's faith in himself has been shattered, his guiding light extinguished in front of his eyes while he was too weak to stop it.
Dadan's answer to Ace was to grow into an unstoppable force like his father, and while that inspired him to make it through his childhood it took until his death to come to the conclusion Jinbe helps Luffy reach now
What's really cool is that it's Ace reminiscing about meeting the Straw Hats during the Alabasta arc that inspires Jinbe's speech now. It's just a nice full circle moment all the way around
