I'm adding This section after giving it a bit of thought. I wondered if putting my political beliefs here for everyone to see would be the right thing to do, or if it felt trendy and performative- isn't Every decent person pro-Feminism, of one sort or another? Are there Really people on here who think that Black Lives don't matter, and would rather hero-worship the jackbooted servants of a racist system? And the sad answer is, there ARE. A Shitload of them, especially here in a fairly conservative state like Texas (though it's getting closer and closer to flipping every election!)
One wise thing I've heard is that posting your opinions online, arguing with people you disagree with, isn't ever going to change their minds. BUT! The purpose that it Does serve is to let other people, those who can't speak out, people trapped in abusive relationships, trans kids and gay folk who can't come out of the closet for fear of their very Lives, it's to let them see, to make sure that they KNOW, they are not alone against the monsters
So, for the record: Black Lives Matter. The institute of American policing and our entire criminal justice system is bastards, inefficient, ineffective, and quite literally slavery. Abortion is a human right. Health Care should be universal and free. College tuition should be free to public universities, and student loan debt should be forgiven. Those convicted of sexual assault or abuse should be banned from owning firearms or holding public office. Bisexuality Does exist. Trans rights are human rights. If I've left anything out, I'll add it later, but that pretty much sums it up for me.
