Masterpost!

What other factions do you have in your minecraft lore? Was the faction that “set minecraft in motion” the same one that created the ancient cities that succumbed to the sculk?
Hm, may as well namedrop 'em all! The factions in the overworld (the only ones that really matter) are The United and Tridentia! The Unity are what you'd expect, the ancient builders that everyone always talks about- They explored the world, fiddled with magic, discovered the Nether and the End, etc. etc. Tridentia is a nation that split off from The United- Think how America split off from Great Britain. Since The United had conquered pretty much all available land, Tridentia took to the seas, building their own civilization beneath the waves. There's smaller factions, of course. Although now long forgotten, the Villagers were once rebels of The United too, known as Peacefarers. Then they all had their own little squabbles, what with Wandering Traders and Illagers being found around the world. As for the Nether and End and the factions within... Well, that's a can of worms we can crack open another day ;]
Snapthoughts! For snapshots 25w02a, 25w05a, and 25w06a
Sure has been a bit, huh? I wanted to group these three all together because of the somewhat similar features they all share! Even if I'm unable to pump out as many concepts like I originally made this account for- I do wanna get out Snapthoughts whenever I can!

Firstly, and most importantly, the new pig variants! I really like the cold pig's flabby extra bits in particular, the change in model is something I appreciate and 100% makes it more unique than even the warm pig, aside from textures alone Other than the pigs, I really like the new ambience blocks introduced in this one. The falling leaves effect adds a lot of life to the forests, and the Leaf Litter does the same thing. But something I don't exactly like about Leaf Litter is how there's only a brown variant of it. I think there's a lot more you could do with Leaf Litter that showed leaves that are still alive instead of dead ones. Still a cool decoration block, though, don't get me wrong! The Wildflowers are a good example of what I mean actually- They provide amazing life to the birch forests that actually do a good job in making it feel properly alive. Another phenomenal decoration block.

The new cows!!! Not just the cold and warm versions, but the new model with the new muzzle! I never realized how much I wanted the snout of the cow to be extended, and now that it is it looks so much more complete as a model (alongside the updated textures making it look better too). As for the new variants, I think I like cold variant more than I like the warm. To me the warm variant looks like a weirdly skinned cow, although I really like its horns compared to the warm cow. The warm cow is my favorite though because it reminds me a lot of the Wooly Cow, and anything that reminds me of Minecraft's short-lived spinoffs makes me happy. The new ambience blocks in the form of the Bush and the Firefly Bush are also AWESOME dude- The Firefly is back!! Even if in a lesser form. I'm surprised it took more than a decade and a half for something simply named "Bush" to be added to the game, so that part's a little funny. The new ambience is also another thing in this Snapshot I didn't know I needed but wholly enjoy now that it's in here. The way it works being dependent on blocks and what they're touching too (which is something I still don't fully understand tbh) is really cool and makes artificially creating it easy for certain builds people may wanna do, which is something I'm glad Mojang accounted for.

The new chickens are something I expected, but their new textures and accompanying new features are not. EASILY the best new chicken of the two is the cold chicken, the new feather colors and crown is amazing and makes it pretty much the exact opposite of the temperate chicken, which is good by me. The warm chicken is good too I guess- I like the cold chicken a lot more though. The new eggs, though, that was not something I imagined would be happening. The brown egg and blue egg is a good thing, don't get me wrong- Guaranteeing a way to get chickens outside of going to the biome they spawn in is a very welcome feature. I just didn't expect it. The new Dry Grasses too! The Short Dry Grass being shorter than the normal Short Grass and the Tall Dry Grass being just as tall as the Short Grass is a neat detail too! Giving more life to the deserts (and ambience in other places too) seems to be a theme of this drop. And the Cactus Flowers are gorgeous. I love them. There isn't a lot more to say about them- The precautions they took to not have them break cactus farms are probably really helpful too, but I don't use farms- A very nice bow to tie off this one!
The Failure.....
A mistake in the process. A monstrous flaw in the system. First appearing as a mostly unassuming sculk shrieker, this strange mimic may rise from the ground if alerted twice via a sculk sensor. It will advance immediately however if an attempt to mine the shrieker is made without the use of a silk touch hoe.
Unlike wardens which are mostly balanced in ability, failures primarily specialize in ranged precision sonic booms as well as AOE sonic booms making up for their comparatively slower speeds.
With no legs, they must crawl, dragging themselves and their sculk across the ground. If one is spread too thin, it may collapse, leaving just a normal, lone shrieker in its wake...

GET ON IT
I don't know how and I have no reason to believe so, but I know in my heart that they are autistic. <3
They are NOT neurotypical!
Canon! Istg it's canon for all Endermen. Being neurotypical would be their species' version of neurodivergency
Snapthoughts - Snapshot 23w17a
The major thing of note here is the new music disc provided to us by Aaron Cherof, “Relic”. I’m listening to it right now as I write this, and I gotta say, it honestly encapsulates that nostalgic feel that the original C418 tracks give me. Maybe something about the way it’s scored and the instruments? I have no idea, but still, it’s an amazing feeling. Like reliving my own past.
As for the less huge things, Mojang’s using a new font system that allows for so many more special characters! Things like Chinese symbols are now very easily able to be used, which I think opens up the door to a lot more special signs and texts! Coincides well with the recent acceptance of almost all nationalities on the QSMP.
There’s also been the addition of an entire seven new Advancements! I’ll split them up into different sections.
Starting with the three relating to the Sniffers and their prehistoric menu: Getting your hands on a Sniffer Egg gets you “Smells Interesting”, feeding Torchflower Seeds to a baby Snifflet gets you “Little Sniffs”, and planting said Torchflower Seeds gets you “Planting The Past” (This might also work for Pitcher Pods, although I didn’t test it)
The next two Advancements relate to the Sherds. Digging up a Sherd gets you “Respecting The Remnants” and crafting a pot from Sherds gets you “Careful Restoration”.
These last two relate to Armor Trims! Crafting your first Trimmed-up Armor gets you “Crafting a New Look”, and this next one is a bit more complicated. You must have every special Armor Trim (the ones with the special textures like Snout or Silence) in your inventory while crafting a Trimmed Armor piece, which results in the “Smithing with Style” Advancement.
Also, I believe there might’ve been a few changes to the Trail Ruins structures? I’m not entirely sure, honestly- Might’ve just been me seeing new things that weren’t new since I hadn’t played with them in a bit.
All in all, I think this snapshot was great! The new music disc is really all I care about, but hey, new Advancements and mechanical updates are pretty cool and important.
The Otherside
This is an art piece I made quite a bit ago, and I’m very very proud of how it turned out. It’s also incredibly lore-heavy, so lemme ramble a bit.
Deep below the surface, in the darkest parts of the Overworld, there lies Ancient Cities with forgotten and rich history embedded on the walls. The infectious substance known as Sculk make its’ home here, originating from this large ominous frame overlooking the entire ruined town.
There’s rumors of a special arcane enchantment that can be placed on a Flint and Steel, allowing for a more powerful spark of flame, opening the gateway to a mysterious dimension known as the Otherside, the origin of all the Sculk we now find in our Overworld.
There’s even a book about the dimension, supposedly writted by an enchantress who discovered the enchantment to enter the portal. Who knows where that sacred book lay now?
Are there any other mobs you have made? The peeper is so cute!
Oh plenty! With the recent release of Minecraft Legends, my Piglin lore specifically has been under heavy development.
As for what you’ll be seeing… Expect some Deep Dark stuff very soon. After that, I’ll probably expand the lore of the ancient faction that kinda set everything in Minecraft into motion
Introducing…
The Peeper!
The Peeper is a smaller, cuter, yellower breed of the Creeper we all know and love(?). Like their bigger brethren, Peepers are seemingly of some sort of sentient form of vegetation, although they lack the biological mechanisms to detonate.
They’re often seen out in the wild, carrying blocks and items atop their flattened heads back to their Hive. If interacted with, they don’t respond in any way outside of a hiss. Their directive is to bring what they’re told to back to their Hive and nothing else. Being attacked doesn’t phase them either; they just allow themselves to die. Kinda sad, really.
Hope you enjoyed that lore splurge! I hope I get to draw more of these guys in the future and also expand Creeper lore.
