a benson who can't control or scare randy with threats of violence or force anymore is sooo goooood, randy who doesn't cower under bensons hand or bend to his will. just stares when he starts to raise his voice. sooo so tired, so depressed. this isn't how either of them wanted a reunion to go, but they're different people now and they have to just deal with it. maybe randy did leave his wedding unannounced and get in the passenger seat of the car benson has been living in for months and months, still dressed in a tux a little too big for him. maybe they do drive and drive and drive but it's not the same, it couldn't be. randy wants bensons to hold him and benson wants to never let him go. but they don't touch. they sleep in the motel bed facing away from each other and randy can't even cry, because he got in the car this time, no gun to his back or anything. benson never even threatens his mom or his sister or anyone, he just lets randy sit quietly while he buys gas and snacks and they don't speak more than a few words to each other. utterly miserable.
