Dorcas Meadowes and Remus Lupin- Gryffindor Common Room, 1978
Without a leash | 1980 | OPEN
msmarlenemckinnon:
She immediately moved closer to him and placed her hand on his hands and gently pulled them away from his hair, not wanting for him to hurt himself. Instead, she then ran her fingers through his black hair tenderly. as he spoke.
What Effy did was very brave, but it was silly to go on her own. With the Order, at least they had people having her back, but she didn’t say anything since it wouldn’t help. “Does she usually let you know she’s okay? How did you reach to this conclusion?” She asked, moving her hand from his hair to his shoulder. “When was the last time you made contact with her?”
Benjy forced himself to look into her eyes.
"Yeah." the two were as close as they could be (despite neither of them admitting it) but that's normal for them. Effy usually sent her patronus, a red fox like his but it stopped coming.
"A month." maybe that wasn't a long time ago? For him it was, this was a war afterall. People die every fucking day, it shouldn't be normal.
“Next week I’ll be in Toronto. I’m still trying to get my head around it. I just came back from New York actually where I was doing an independent film. I’ve gone from one side of the world to the other. My head is going crazy. I woke up this morning and said ‘Where am I?’ I looked out the window and saw the Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge and I’m like ‘Wow! How did I end up in Australia?’. Have you ever seen that film Jumper? It’s like I’m in Jumper.” -Aaron Taylor-Johnson talking about Kick-Ass during the Angus, thongs and perfect snogging photocall in Australia.

magical-muses:
Dorcas didn’t seem phased by the reactions her teasing was getting, some people would blush and retract the remarks but not Doe. She laughed and waved dismissively, “Nah don’t worry, I’m only pulling your leg.” She confessed. “Wouldn’t put you through the trauma of kissing me,” she added, holding her hand over her heart offendedly but her over the top antics made it clear that she wasn’t miffed in the slightest.
“Yeah..” She shrugged casually, she’d always presumed the job came with perks; apart from the obvious authority. “Ya know.. Getting to use magic in the hallways, free periods, extra house points.. I don’t know, just little extras.”
“Too nice? Never been accused of that before,” she laughed along with him. “Although I do believe you’re a genius, I’m very observant. Despite being sick every few weeks, you’re still keeping good grades I suspect” She mused.
“Ministry has done worse, it’s all pretty corrupt and disgusting. Politics is always sticky like that.” She made it painfully clear she wasn’t a fan, she didn’t trust them and rightfully so.
“Yes!” She exclaimed, eyes wide and sparklingly with wonder as her burnt hand was long forgotten. “It would explain the name, Mrs Norris isn’t exactly a cat name.” She paused, thinking too much into it. “There could be even more scandal to it all.. Guess we’ll never know, doubt Filch would tell us.”
Since when was kissing Dorcas Meadowes considered a traumatic experience? Not that Remus would actually have the gall to ask but her smile gave the hint that once again she was joking. He laughed along, silently disagreeing with that "traumatic bit".
"Hmmm well I'm still a Gryffindor." he smiled to himself. "Though many may seem to forget." he joked lightly.
He flushed at the compliment. "Yeah...well...you're brilliant too." he said softly but she probably already knew that.
His eyes widened at her political stance. He had never seen anyone so upfront about the Ministry before. Sure there were criticisms here and there but Doe seemed perfectly unbothered at the fact that she was pretty much open about it. "I...you think so?" he silently agreed with her. It would have been nice if...people with his condition had a chance too.
Remus smirked teasingly. "Be careful miss Meadowes, he might hear you." he chuckled. "Wouldn't want to bother the darling couple now would we?"
I found him. I know.
He’s here. I understand.
Awkward matchmaking | Remus and Molly | 1993
muse--minded:
Molly was a mother through and through- seven children of her own, the two brothers she had raised and then lost, and a handful of unofficially adopted kids- which was the category that Remus was in. That meant that her home was always open to him, no matter how long it had been since his last visit. She’d missed him, wondered where he’d been, but when she heard that he was teaching at the school that all of her children attended, she knew it’d only be a matter of time until she saw him again, and she wasn’t going to make him feel awful about his absence.
Molly chuckled as he presented her with flowers. “Thank you, dear! The ones I have on the table right now are starting to die, so these will be a nice replacement.” As she let him in and led him to the kitchen, dodging several objects that she had put to work with her magic, she tsked at him. “How is it being back up at the school?”
Remus couldn't remember the last night he visited the Burrow. It had been ages since he last visited where he could have sworn it happened to another person entirely. As Molly led him inside the all-too familiar dwelling, the first change he noticed immediately was a magnificent clock that didn't tell the time but instead the names of the Weasley kin. He recognized all of them without hesitation. Percy's, Fred's, George's, Ron's, and Ginny's names were all pointing to "school" while Arthur's was at "work".
For some reason, Remus was looking for Harry's name until a pang of realization hit him...
"Ah? Oh." he snapped back to reality, just realizing he was staring at the clock for far too long.
"It's brilliant...the castle is the same as always, even got to check the old common room and it still has that burnt mark I made on the edge of the carpet." he noted with a smile.
"Your children are brilliant too by the way." he said, suspecting Molly would want to know more about them from him first-hand. "I'm sad to say that regardless of my past, a certain pair of twins still refuse to accept a little disciplining..." he didn't really expect Fred and George Weasley to take him seriously, considering James, Sirius, and Peter didn’t either...
He stopped his trail of thought immediately. It hurt too much and he was in no mood to think of them, which proved to be harder by the day considering Sirius' posters being plastered all around Hogsmeade.
“What about you?” he asked, needing to change topics immediately.

The two Gryffindors slipped quietly out of the commonroom, careful not to wake the sleeping Fat lady who guarded the door. The last time they’d roused her she and Molly had almost gotten into a screaming match about impropriety and the proper laws of courtship.
Once out in the hall and safe from anyone’s earshot, Molly tapped her chin. “Where haven’t we been yet?” she mused. A nearly full moon shone through one of the windows and it gave Molly a great idea. “What about behind the troll tapestry?” she suggested. “On the seventh floor?” They hadn’t chosen the spot for its romantic potential, but for its hilarity. One day Molly imagined sending their kids off to Hogwarts and embarrassing them by telling them that, years, ago, their mum and dad had snogged right there, past a spot they walked past every day.
Arthur's eyes widened in excitement. "Really? The Troll tapestry?" he teased at the absurd choice but then again, not every snogging place has to be romantic.
And truth be told, he really didn't care. So long as he was with her, he was happy.
"Well then, shall we get started?" he couldn't help but feel excitement pulsing through his veins. With a surge of courage, he took her hand in his and immediately sprinted towards the stairs.
"Come on!" he laughed along the way.

“That’s really sweet of you, but that won’t make me forget that you still need to eat your vegetables.” she thought he was adorable, he was trying to compliment her and maybe try to get on her good side but she was still his healer and he needed a proper mean.
Remus forced himself to finish the meal. It was good but he was so nervous being around her that he wasn't able to enjoy it fully. He finished his tray and placed it aside. Normally when Madam Pomfrey wasn't looking, he would take his wand out and practice his vanishing spells but considering Andromeda was there, he wasn't sure if he was allowed to.
Plus he was certain that he had a practical exam on Transfiguration today. Too bad he couldn’t practice last night.
"Can I practice some wandwork?" he asked her, "I think I'm getting better."

marauder-sirius:
Sirius ruffled his own hair back into place. Andromeda could get away with things like that because, well, she was his favorite. She always had been, and her getting disowned had not changed that. Still, the fourteen year old didn’t appreciate such gestures in front of his friends.
“Remus is only polite around professors and healers,” Sirius retorted.
Andromeda smiled in amusement as she handed Remus a flask filled with a cranberry colored liquid. “I don’t believe that. Remus is an upstanding boy,” she teased. She fetched another flask, this one filled with a blue pomade. “Any pain? I have to check your wounds,” she said, placing a hand on the small of Remus’ back to help him sit.
Remus was about to stick his tongue out at Sirius and was more than ready to chuck that licorice wand at him but Andromeda's compliment stopped him from acting on such reflexes.
"No." he managed to spit out with a squeak. He cleared his throat and averted his gaze, "erm..." he looked at Sirius, not sure whether his mate was gonna help him come up with an excuse to get out of here or whether he suspected something else. Remus seriously hoped the later wasn't going to happen and decided to speak up.
"I'm loads better really..." Remus told her. "Madam Pomfrey's used to me getting out the next day, so maybe I should just..." he shifted to the side, hoping to get out of here as soon before making a fool of himself. He shot Sirius a look, hoping he can come up with a better excuse than he could convince Andromeda it was alright.

Molly was outside beating the dust out of a rug when she caught sight of a familiar figure. Now that all the children were gone, Molly had a long list of chores that kept her busy while Arthur was at work, chores that she couldn’t get done with all sorts of people underfoot. Molly loved having all of her kids home during the summer, but once they went back to school she had a bit of time to herself and she enjoyed it, before she started missing them again.
Things were not all well in the wizarding world, and though Molly trusted Albus Dumbledore with her children’s lives, she felt even better about things this year, knowing that he old friend Remus was at the school as well.
The redhead smiled as he came up toward the porch, planting a hand on her hip. “Lovely to see you, as always,” she grinned. “Come inside, you definitely have not been taking advantage of the house elves’ cooking up there at the castle.”
"Good day Molly." Remus smiled at Molly as he walked towards the burrow. It has been a while since he last visited, choosing to exile himself from most people near and dear to his heart. He had anticipated Molly's less-than-enthused greeting but she greeted him with a smile and a light tease which he returned with a grin.
"Oh you think so?" he smiled and handed her flowers that he conjured from his wand behind him. "Good thing you haven't seen me last month then."

Molly could hardly contain her smile as Arthur reached her. “Would you rather I be late?” She teased him coyly. She was almost always early when it came to him, not wanting to miss a moment or keep him waiting on her. Somewhere along the line, he had become her favorite person to spend time with.
“Ready?” She asked, settling her hand in the crook of his elbow, heading for the portrait hole. Sure, they weren’t supposed to be out after hours, but they found a certain thrill in breaking rules, as only Gryffindors could.
Arthur smiled, unable to return the cheek. As she held unto his arm, his heart gave a leaping roar and a part of him wondered if she heard it.
"Always." he said with a mischievous grin. Her skin felt smooth against his and her eyes glistened even in the dark. It took every bit of Arthur's common sense to tell him not to kiss her right then and there. After all, they have a list and in that list, they have already kissed more than a dozen times in the common room.
Around 20 at the last count...
"Where to miss Prewett?" he whispered as they went out of the portrait hole.

msmarlenemckinnon:
Effy’s missing.
Marlene’s blood went cold and she remained in silence for a moment. “Since when?” She asked seriously. “When was the last time you saw her? Have you talked to the Aurors?”
He shook his head. He closed his eyes and buried them in his hands to calm himself down. He wasn't crying per se, but he couldn't look at Marlene without feeling like a failure of a brother.
"Told me not to find her coz she'll be gone for a while. She was doing some work though you know...she's not in the Order like us." Benjy remembered trying to recruit his sister for the cause but his mother was against it. She was already against her son joining the cause but she refused to have Effy brought in there too.
"Effy does this thing where she gives false leads." Ben explained to Marlene. "We deal with death eaters and all, but Effy does small stuff like deflecting snatchers to other places so it'll be easier for people to escape." he took a swig of whiskey and finished the bottle. In Benjy's opinion, it wasn't exactly "small" but Effy didn't feel the same. Benjy thought his sister did the right thing but getting as much people to move as she can but the leads stopped coming in and snatchers were now keeping tabs on people. His sister might be one of them.
"Dad doesn't know." Benjy finished. "No one does. Just you."
