I wish we got to see more of hikari. Feels like out of the main characters, we learned the least about her 😔
Smash 6 Wishlist Marina Liteyears
My Smash 6 Character Wishlist part 4 Marina Liteyears Also known as “Ultra-InterGalactic-Cybot G, Marina Liteyears” first debuted in “Mischief Makers” (or Go Go!! Troublemakers in Japan) on the “Nintendo 64” released in 1997, developed by “Treasure” and published by “Enix” in Japan and “Nintendo” internationally. She also made a guest appearance in a Beat ‘em up game “Rakugaki Showtime” (or Doodle Showtime) on the PlayStation 1 released only in Japan in 1999 also developed by “Treasure”. And basically nothing else soon after (except being added into a Smash 64 mod “Smash Remix”) and just slipped under the radar since then. Smash over the years has featured characters from very obscure game franchises (most of which are 1st party) such as Duck Hunt, Ice Climbers, Kid Icarus, F-Zero, Mother/Earthbound etc. For Smash 6 I can say the roster has room for more obscure 1st 2nd or even 3rd party franchises to be represented, and “Mischief Makers” is a great example. Fun fact: Treasure is also known as the developers behind “Gunstar Heroes” for the “SEGA Genesis” released in 1993. Their also the developers of “Wario World” released for the “Nintendo GameCube” in 2003. And also the developers behind “Sin and Punishment” (or Crime and Punishment: Successor of the Earth) for the “Nintendo 64” released in 2000 only in Japan (eventually released internationally on the “Wii Virtual Console” in 2007), and it’s sequel “Sin & Punishment: Star Successor” released for the “Nintendo Wii” in 2009. The game’s protagonist “Saki Amamiya” appeared as an assist trophy in both “Super Smash Bros. Brawl” and “Super Smash Bros. for Wii U/3DS”, and as a Mii costume in “Super Smash Bros. Ultimate”. For a 2D platformer, Mischief Makers has a very unique gameplay mechanic that could translate well into a Smash moveset. Marina’s signature shake shake mechanic can act as a grab attack, giving some combo potential. Her rocket boosts can give her additional jumps, and act as a recovery. Her sliding could take a ton of damage and further knock back. Considering Treasure has been represented in Smash in the form of Saki as an assist trophy, and with Mischief Makers being the developer’s first game for a Nintendo hardware, I’d say Marina has a fair chance of getting into Smash 6. Plus we could use another robot added to the roster with the likes of R.O.B. and Mega Man. Although Enix is now Square Enix, that would possibly make her another rep from Square Enix, that’s if they care enough to add her in.
