Oh, he could only assume to what great lengths she would go to arrest his idiot of a brother, seeing as he was notorious for breaking the law. To be quite honest, it was about time. Whatever her reasons were, though, he didn’t want to know, rather staying as far away from his brother’s business as possible.
And despite his best of efforts ( and a little extra help from the chief’s moody attitude ) Staz couldn’t help but cock an eyebrow in a display of annoyance, mouth twitching dangerously in what one could only describe as an aborted attempt at getting his facial muscles under control before he slipped up and snapped. “How should I know? You’re the one searching in the most unlikely place for him to be.”
It certainly was absurd the way in which she went about her efforts to capture Braz once more, that was undeniable. One might assume that this was becoming more of a grudge match between the woman and Staz's older brother than a try at maintaining peace and enforcing justice. Who knows, maybe she really was just that committed to her job- or perhaps she simply wanted to be the one who gave the man exactly what he deserved.
Even though she had it coming, Beros couldn't help but to seem somewhat surprised by the boy's change in expression as well as his snippy retort. "You know what, kid? You're absolutely right...."
"But if I were you, I wouldn't go around mouthing off to just anyone like that..." He had a fair point, but her more than dangerous alteration in tune proved warningly enough that he wouldn't care for where this was headed.
