Is that WHITNEY PEAK? No, that’s just ASTRID BERRY. They were born on 07/10/2005 and are in their JUNIOR year at Northknot University. They live in Northknot because they are a WEREWOLF (MOON VALLEY PACK). Some say they're COMPASSIONATE and EMPATHETIC, but I’ve heard others say they're SECRETIVE and CAUTIOUS. When you think of HER, don’t you think of THE SOFT STRUMMING OF A GUITAR, LONG LONELY NIGHTS & A STACK OF TEXTBOOKS?
Name: Astrid Everly Berry Pronunciation: AS-trid EV-ur-lee BEH-ree Nickname(s): None Birthday: October 7th Age: 20 Zodiac Sign: Libra Sun, Sagittarius Moon, Gemini Rising Gender: Cis-Female Pronouns: She/Her Species: Werewolf Orientation: Pansexual, Demiromantic Occupation: Full-Time Student Faceclaim: Whitney Peak
HEADCANONS
She's in the Kaleb bloodline; Moon Valley Pack. Being apart of the bloodline gives Astrid a sense of identity she’s never had before. However, she struggles with accepting this connection, feeling like she doesn’t truly belong.
She lived on the streets of Northknot for a few months before being taken in and adopted.
It's been over a year since her adoption and she's still getting used to having a family. She’s still learning what it means to be loved unconditionally.
Despite being adopted into a loving family, Astrid constantly fears that she’ll be abandoned again. This fear manifests in her relationships, making her hesitant to form close bonds with others, even though she deeply craves connection.
Due to her upbringing, Astrid struggles with feelings of inadequacy and often believes she’s not deserving of the love and care she now receives.
Astrid often writes songs that reflect her past experiences. Her lyrics are raw and honest, serving as a therapeutic outlet for the emotions she struggles to express verbally.
She keeps a collection of journals filled with these lyrics, most of which she’s too shy to share with others.
Astrid finds solace in playing her guitar late at night when the world is quiet and sometimes performs on the sidewalk and in parks for tips.
She is cautious about romantic feelings, often overthinking her interactions. Her demiromantic nature means she needs a strong emotional bond before she can imagine love or intimacy.
APPEARANCE
Astrid drifts through life with a quiet, introspective air, her gaze often lowered as if lost in thought. Headphones are her constant companions, shielding her from the world while she clutches her guitar with a protective grip. Her curly hair frames her face in wild, untamed ringlets, a reflection of her inner turmoil and creative spirit, often falling into her eyes as she loses herself in thought or music. Her nails are a vibrant canvas of colors, mirroring the emotional hues of her life though the polish is usually chipped. Her style is a casual mix of comfort and self-expression, often marked by paint stains and the occasional tear-streaked journal tucked under her arm. She gravitates toward comfortable, slightly oversized clothing, sweaters with thumbholes, patched-up jeans, and scuffed sneakers, that speak to her artistic, lived-in vibe. Astrid’s guitar is her most constant accessory, almost like an extension of herself. Her posture is reserved, shoulders slightly hunched, but her eyes carry a deep intensity, hinting at the fire within. Her presence is a blend of vulnerability and resilience as if she’s both the artist and the canvas of her own evolving story.
PERSONALITY
Astrid is a tapestry of contrasts: shy but observant, brooding yet creative, cautious yet empathetic. She’s reserved around new people but begins to shine in the company of her college friends, who see her as an equal rather than the fragile “little sister” her family sometimes treats her as. Though timid and wary of love, Astrid has a deep well of compassion for others, which she often expresses through her music. Her reluctance to open up is matched by her growing bravery in trying to connect, despite the awkwardness she feels in doing so. She’s secretive, not out of malice, but from years of self-preservation. Her music becomes her truest outlet, where she can speak her heart without the need for words.
AESTHETIC
soft guitar melodies playing under a starlit sky - messy buns with stray curls falling loose - a stack of textbooks - warm light streaming through blinds onto a cluttered desk - soft strumming on a guitar - the humming of a melody - always being spoken over - the comforting weight of a guitar strap across her shoulder - trust issues - song lyrics scribbled on napkins - wolves howling in the distance - the rustle of pages in a textbook during late-night study sessions - journals filled with scribbled lyrics and tear-streaked ink - smudges of a pen - long lonely nights spent watching the moon
CONNECTIONS
Werewolf Who Turned Her She met him during one of the times she ran away from her foster home. He introduced her to Northknot and turned her into a werewolf. He's probably in the Moon Valley Pack.
The First (and Maybe Only) Person She Fell For (Catriona) Someone she developed deep feelings for, possibly even before she fully understood what love meant to her. Maybe they had a brief, intense connection that she eventually ran from, scared of getting too close. Could be a friend she’s still in contact with, and there’s lingering tension, or someone from her past who’s suddenly back in her life
Ride-or-Die Best Friend (Madison) Someone who sees through her quiet, guarded nature and refuses to let her push them away. They’ve been through their own struggles and recognize the signs of someone who needs unconditional support. They encourage her to share her music, push her to take up space, and remind her she’s worth more than she believes
The Packmate She’s Unsure About Another werewolf from the Moon Valley Pack, but someone who either doubts her place in the bloodline or challenges her to embrace it fully. Maybe they’re protective over her, like an older sibling figure, or maybe they resent that she was turned rather than born into the life. Their relationship could be a mix of tension and reluctant understanding; someone who helps her navigate her werewolf instincts but also calls her out when she tries to keep one foot out the door
Someone Who Knew Her From the Streets Someone from her past, before she was adopted, who remembers the girl she used to be. Could be another runaway, a fellow musician she played with on the sidewalks, or even someone she used to steal from or get alcohol/drugs through. Their presence in her life now could bring up old wounds, remind her of how far she’s come, or even tempt her back into bad habits
Mentor A professor, an older musician, or even a therapist who sees her potential and encourages her to keep pushing forward. Someone who offers her guidance when she feels lost, helping her understand not just music but herself. They might be the person who suggests she pursue music therapy in the first place, recognizing her natural empathy and gift for connection.
BIOGRAPHY
tw: foster care, child abuse, underage drinking, self-harm, violence, prostitution and drugs
Astrid was born on a cold October night in Ontario, Canada. She was born to a prostitute and a drug dealer who didn't really care for her. They'd leave her at home unattended at all times of the day and night and for hours at a time. They'd sometimes even forget to feed the young girl because they were high out of their minds. It wasn't until the girl's third birthday that someone noticed her unlivable conditions and removed her from her home.
You don't get to choose your family, but you do get to choose how they treat you.
She was entered into foster care where she was bounced around, home to home. She was a quiet child and kept her head in books. This made it easy for people to take advantage of her. Sometimes her foster siblings and even foster parents would take out their anger on her. They'd hit her for no reason most of the time and when she actually got in trouble, the abuse was worse. The system would notice the bruises on the young child and would move her to a new home just for her to face the same treatment.
When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time.
The abuse caused the young girl to run away from her foster homes numerous times. When she was on the streets, she'd get adults to buy liquor and different types of drugs to ease the physical and mental pain she felt. The last time she ran away, Astrid ran into a young man. She didn't know he was a werewolf at first until they grew closer to each other and he told her the truth. Intrigued by him, she asked him to turn her. On her seventeenth birthday, he did just that. As a birthday present, he brought her to Northknot.
It is in our nature to explore, to reach out into the unknown.Â
For the first couple of weeks, Astrid stayed in the shed behind his house. He'd bring her meals and would show her around the city. His parents eventually found out that he was hiding a girl in their backyard and kicked her out. For the next few weeks, Astrid lived on the streets again... Fending for herself by stealing. She eventually got herself caught. Luckily, the woman she stole from was nice about it. She was so nice that Astrid told the woman her story and to Astrid's surprise, the woman brought her home.
There are no unwanted children, just unfound families.
After going through the proper channels, Astrid was adopted into the Berry family and registered in the local high school. She graduated high school a few months later and as a graduation gift, the Berry's bought her a guitar. She'd always been a lover of music and picked up on the instrument really fast. She was writing her own music before the summer was over. She got accepted into college at the local university where she's studying to become a music therapist and moved into an apartment closer to the school with roommates.
