Booker:

Became immortal during the Napoleonic Wars through no choice of his own. Was taken in by the only other immortals but didn't like that and went back to his mortal wife and three sons only to watch them all die and end up being hated by them for not sharing his immortality despite not being able to. His youngest son died of cancer at 42 cursing him. Joined back with the other three immortals and spent the next circa 150 years resenting the gay couple for having each other and falling deeper into depression. Betrays his whole new immortal family to Big Pharma and nearly kills their newly-mortal leader, and is sentenced to 100 years exile. Manages to somehow transfer his immortality to said boss in the terrible sequel and then dies from suicide by bad guy for no reason, having learnt nothing and never apologised.

She's not the only one who survived with immortality, but she's the one of the only ones who was really unhappy with their ending! They REALLY wanted to be cured :( and now their suffering is eternal! Pretty cool beans, right?

When is the tournament planned to start?

Submissions will be open for probably a month from when I put them up (July 7, in this case), and then I need to organize everything, which generally takes about a week, then the bracket announcement will be posted, and the bracket will start two days from then.

Submissions might be open a little longer based on how many submissions I have by then, but usually I close them a month from opening.

So if I had to put a date to it, probably around July 16?

Does it count as a cursed immortal if the person in question keeps travelling back in time whenever they die?

(also, taken to the logical extreme, would a groundhog day situation count as a cursed immortal, also?)

Because, well, it's not like they don't die, it's just that the death never really sticks. Which is definitely a valid way to define immortality, it's just a bit awkward, especially when taken to the logical extreme.

Hmmm, I suppose that in the case of time loops it depends on their perspective.

If the time loop’s main source of pain is dying over and over/watching others age or die/being unable to age or die, then it counts. For example, I think I’d count Subaru from Re: Zero, or Siffrin from In Stars and Time. (I think that’s what ISAT is about?? I haven’t played it yet. Ignore me if I’m wrong)

If the time loop’s main source of pain is just the fact that the person is in a time loop, then I don’t think it counts. For example, I wouldn’t count Groundhog Day.

I might make exceptions if the characters case is argued well, but I think generally I’ll go with that. Sorry if this is ambiguous, I tried to word it clearly.
