“You better keep it! I’m countin’ on you, bud!”
Despite his intense answer, Percy laughed, the ring of his voice more carefree than anything. Certainly, he did feel a bit anxious knowing his efforts to keep his secret to only his family had gone to waste and because of such a careless mistake, but there was something relaxing about knowing he could ease up on it as well. This presented an opportunity to not have to worry.
It was certainly… refreshing.
His expression fell to a more neutral state as he listened to Hisame’s answer, and Percy’s face broke out into a soft smile after a few minutes as he shook his head.
“No, you’re not distracting me at all! …Okay, maybe I am getting sidetracked, but I did stop myself to look at the sky! I can’t blame you for something I did, can I?”
He hoped at the very least it would dismiss any concern Hisame had for taking up his time. Besides…
“I’d love to! If you’ll have me.”
He closed the distance a little bit between the two so that he may stand beside the samurai, though his eyes did quickly move to the sky again as he marveled at it. He let out a quiet, clean whistle.
“I’m sure we’ll see a bunch of shooting stars tonight! I hope you’ve got a wish ready! Blink, and you’ll miss your chance.”
“Aha, of course. I’d never break a promise.”
Yes, Percy did come off as rather intense...but there was something adorable about how seriously he took something that to most would be silly and childish. He enjoyed speaking with the wyvern rider, as he felt as if he could ease up around him-- like he could truly be himself. Hisame let the serene situation wash over him, staring up at the sky with a smile.
“If you say so, then I suppose there’s no point in arguing.”
He removed his attention from the sky and onto Percy, partially surprised by his enthusiastic acceptance. He would’ve assumed that most people would not particularly enjoy his company, as he seemed to be too serious or...acted much older. His smile grew, and he looked back up at the sky.
“I’ll try and think of one now in case we do encounter some shooting stars...after all, it isn’t everyday that you get to see them-- we may never have that chance again... Say, Percy, if you don’t mind me asking, what would you wish for?”
