So today in Latin class we were reading a sample comparison essay of Fama and Iris. Allow me to quote this pretty great bit from it.

ANNNNNNNNNND, WE'RE BACK TO THE AENEID.

Since we last left off, the Trojans have made themselves throughly comfortable in Dido's kingdom, while she continues to creep on Aeneas.

In the meantime, the goddesses Venus and Juno are arguing about who gets to take the Trojans as their own people ('cause they're important 'cause they found Rome 'cause apparently that's totally hipster for Olympus).

The two then begin to plot how Aeneas and Dido will get trapped in a cave together, where they will have no choice but to fulfill Vergil's fanservice standards (which is awfully similar to the friend-fiction Dido wrote the night before). Meanwhile, Juno is creating a storm to ensure that the two stay inside the cave until the fanservice actually occurs.

AND THEN THE TROJANS DISCOVER AMERICA.

Okay, so this time there's actually something relevant to the Latin language and Vergil.

But only a bit.

As you can (maybe) see, we have Crowley's flying Bentley (from Good Omens) in the upper margin, followed by "the stars advising sleep."

Then in the Aeneid, Dido suddenly decides that she lieks Aeneas and instantaneously changes into "Pedo-Dido." Santa-Dido later appears when she takes Aeneas' son into her lap (presumably to ask him what he wants for Saturnalia that year).

Cassandra is like RAVEN!!! So she should have a show "That's So Cassandra." It would be wonderful absolutely horrible. SPIRIT OF JAZZ MAKES AN APPEARANCE! And a small outline of these lines at the bottom there. And "Aeneas and Friends go to White (Priam's) Castle but everybody except Aeneas dies and it's very depressing and Pyrrhus is killing everybody.. which turns out to be in vain." Best movie.

And the Trojan horse is a transformer.

PART 8a OF LINES 298-804!!! There's two parts to part 8...... (click on the picture to see a larger size!)

SO the whole lines of 298-804 are shortly summarized in these last two posts. Well...uh... Aeneas stands agape (obstipui)!!! He does that A LOT. And he also cries a lot. There are also some names Katie and I came up with THAT SUIT THE AENEID A LOT MORE THAN "THE AENEID". LIKE "burn ALL the things!" or "DO NOT TRUST HORSE" or "EVERYONE DIES." Fact.

Also Aeneas's wife Creusa appears in a "larger image that in life" and she tells him his future!! So there she is in the bottom two pictures and the sideways picture on the right. ALSO STRUTTING LEO OR LEONARDO DIHAPPRIO is waltzing though the burning Troy!!! Also in the Scream picture!!! Also in that upper circled picture Aeneas is trying to hug Creusa but he CAN NOT HAZ because SHE IS A GHOST

Oh man this one is totally disorganized OK. OK. Sssssoooo right there in the upper left corner is Aeneas on his roof. When he turns around his allies are all jumping off the building into the fire because they're like "MAN SCREW THIS, I'M OUT" and that one guy is waiting for the Good Omens TV Show because WE'RE ALL WAITING FOR IT....DESPERATELY....

Aaanyway below that is Juno standing on another building shooting LIGHNINGGGG helping destroy Troy because man does she have a lot of ANGER. ANGER ISSUES, WOMAN. ANGER ISSUES. And then Aeneas is angry at Helena over there in the upper right because she didn't make him a sammich. Below that is Aeneas and Creusa, his wife, attempting to dislodge his father from their house BUT NUHUH HE'S NOT LEAVING!!! Until their kid catches on fire. Because, come on, this is the Aeneid. Everything has to be on fire.

AND THEN PYRRHUS APPEARS BUT HE SUDDENLY LOOKS LIKE SNAPE SO HE IS SNAPE. AND CHRISTMAS. AND BACON.

Oh man where do I even begin with this.... SO PYRRHUS WANTS TO KILL ALL THE TROJANS because he's CRAAAYZAY, but then Priam doubts that Pyrrhus's father is Achilles and he's all like "HE'S NOT YOUR DAD!! WHO'S YOUR DAD???" but Achilles don't care. Achilles just takesssss what it wantsssssss.

There's a double IAMCAT rainbow!! There's also a conversation about 2nd and Charles. And there's a Sassy Gay Hector.

PART 5 OF LINES 298-804! (click on the picture to see larger size!)

HERE IS WHERE THE NOTES ALL STOP MAKING SENSE..... So Priam is all like "man I gotta go fight Pyrrhus even though he's completely crazy but ughhh" and EVERYTHING IS IN VAIN (seriously "in vain" is like in every single sentence here). But his wife Hecuba is all like "WHAT WHAT WHAT ARE YOU DOING. GET BACK HERE." And then Pyrrhus MUST GIVE WOUND to Priam's son, Polites (who is very polite! HAH. HAHAHAH.)

And then there's this horrible part where Pyrhhus kills Polites right in front of Priam and Hecuba and then grabs Priam to kill him too but then... Priam slips IN THE PUDDLE OF BLOOD FROM HIS SON... and that is that sideways doodle on the right.

AND IAMCAT. It's like Nyancat only a thousand times better!!!!!

Tia: HERE WE HAVE OVULATING HALLS... (Katie I don't remember how this came to be EXPLAIN) and we also have like three Trojans against like 200 Greeks.

Katie: Oh goodness, ovulating halls. XD That came from when our teacher was trying to find a word that ended with "-ulating." I guessed "undulating" at first, but when she rejected that, I said "ovulating."

Tia: Also we have Greek termites!!! So in line 482, it says "ingentem lato dedit ore fenestram" which the entire class translated as "he made huge opening with his wide mouth." Apparently it was supposed to mean that he made a huge opening with a wide entrance but... we all decided that we liked the mental image of Pyrrhus gnawing through the door to get into the citadel. GREEKS ARE THEREFORE TERMITES....
