General Beta HCs
Betas don't exist outside the Alpha/Omega dichotomy, rather they exist as the middle ground of the genetic and biological spectrum. Just as Alphas and Omegas can lean to their own extreme, they can dip into Beta as well as Betas swinging towards Alpha or Omega (Beta-A type and Beta-O type). Male Betas cannot get pregnant regardless where they fall on the spectrum, and female Betas can't impregnate, though they do experience heat and rut depending on their type. They have an excellent sense of smell and themselves smell like a mellower Alpha or Omega, the rare few that exhibit equal A and O type the most neutral and pleasant to all sexes.
Some Betas enjoy and/or are driven to nest, particularly Beta-O types. Nesting is done out of distress, a need for comfort, or during a heat. Nesting is also done for bonding with family and mates. Betas tend to be less possessive and protective of their nests than Omegas, but this can vary between individuals.
Just like Alphas and Omegas can vary wildly in personality and temperament so do Betas, and they can be found fulfilling a range of occupations. More high-stress type jobs will have Betas of a more extreme type taking suppressants like their Alpha or Omega counterparts to maintain neutrality within the workplace. Hobbies and interests of Betas also vary, though social pressure can find female Betas pushed towards stereotypically Omega pursuits and male Betas towards Alpha regardless of type.
Beta courting tends towards the very fluid, shaping itself to the Alpha, Omega, or Beta partner, though there is no single right way to win over a Beta. Conservative traditionalists dismiss Alpha/Beta and Omega/Beta partnerships unless they are in a whole complementary triad, though their approval tends to remain on the Alpha/Omega coupling as the stronger and more socially stable. Social opinion is slowly becoming more lax in its attitudes towards non-traditional partnerships, with some areas more progressive than others.
