Right!
I am still here. I am starting cycle 2 on Monday (tomorrow) as I finished cycle one and didnāt have the weights I needed for the second cycle so had to wait a week to get paid and then buy them.
I went out today to get the shopping for the week - it cost me way too much so I am even more skint now!
Cycle 1 worked really well for me, I lost 4kg and loads of inches and I canāt wait to get stuck in to cycle 2.Ā
Iām really gonna throw myself at it.
Yeah!
Itās been ages since my last post... I am on C1 D27. So nearly at the end of this cycle! I had a few days where i was sick so I couldnāt stick to plan - to compensate for this I have added on a few more days which is why I am finishing later on.
This pic is just my meatballs (left) and chicken cashew curry (right) to show that I can prep!
People at work are bringing in all sorts of shit; cake, chocolate, biscuits... new stuff every day. It sucks but I have no insane longing for it any more, which is cool.Ā
I am however, fucking SICK of broccoli.
I donāt feel insanely different - definitely stronger and healthier with more energy and the workouts arenāt the end of the world any more... So even if my weight hasnāt changed too much or my inches havenāt decreased too much I still feel better. I will take that as a win no matter what.
So close to my first cycle results, Iāll be updating with them!
C1, D16
Still going strong! Workout this morning went well, changing the rest times from 45 secs between to 30 secs between for half of the workout to up the intensity. Itās knackering.
Made turkey wrapped muffins for snacks next few days, had the guilt free fryup for lunch - it was really good. Made turkey stuffed peppers for dinner, theyāre good but so filling.
Canāt wait for cycle 2...
C1, D11 - back on track!
I'm not sick any more! I can get back on plan this morning with reduced carb oatmeal. Yesterday I prepped chicken stir fry for lunch and cod in Mediterranean sauce for dinner post workout. While I was off plan I was not very carb conscious, and I made a couple of bad choices simply because I was too ill to try to cook food and I just felt totally crap. But that doesn't matter because I'm back on it now, I'm well again and I can do a few extra days of C1 to make up for it. Hopefully I can make it through the rest without getting sick again... Trying my best!
I'm sick.
I manged to catch a stomach bug so I need to take a couple of days off the plan while I recover. I'm gutted.
So yesterday was my 7th day of C1, I've successfully made it a whole week with no slip ups at all. I'm pretty proud of myself, especially because people at work keep bringing in biscuits and homemade cakes and stuff, and leaving them on my desk...
The weekends for me are normally filled with awful junk food - Mcdonalds breakfasts, at least one takeaway and one meal out somewhere. Oh and loads of desserts. But this time I smashed it. I made that "Mousse me up" thingy and had that to sort out my sweet tooth over the weekend so that helped a lot.
The pictures I've posted here are of my Cheesy Piri Piri meatballs - I prepped 4 portions and it was super hectic! But I'm happy how they turned out! And they'll get me through a couple of lunches at work. My SO is making a few servings ofĀ spinach patties for me so I can keep a couple for lunch too. Pretty cool.
In terms of the workouts I am definitely feeling stronger even though it's only been a week. I really push myself in that 30 seconds of work and I feel like it's making a difference for me alreadyĀ - maybe not physically but definitely mentally. My SO reckons he can see a physical difference already but I'm not too sure about that yet.
On to week 2!
So far
I'm half way through my 5th day. I'm pretty tired today and I'm having a hungry day as well so I feel a little bit grumpy which is a bit crap.
I wanna eat a whole bunch of ice cream and veg on the sofa.
But I know that's how I got into this mess in the first place so I gotta hang on and get on with it for now! Trying to satiate my sweet tooth with fruity tea and macadamia nuts for a snack. Might make "mousse me up" later for my other snack to keep me from picking at worse stuff.
At least it's a rest day today. I'll keep thinking about that carby deliciousness for breakfast tomorrow after my workout.
I dunno what it's gonna be like when I start PMS-ing... I get so snacky.
Day 4, C1. I felt stronger today and I felt good about my workout after work, I really went for it. My SO plays football on Thursday evenings so I went it alone while he cheered me on. Breakfast was scrambled eggs, lunch was lean muscle mince and dinner was a build up bagel. Oh my god. It was SO GOOD. I prepped spinach patties for lunch tomorrow, and I'm gonna try something different and have reduced carb oats tomorrow for breakfast. Feeling pretty good still!
End of day 3. I had chicken stir fry and it was really tasty so that's great. Found myself really craving coke zero or fruit juice just anything other than water! I just stuck to water in the end tho. Enjoyed having a rest day.
Day 3, C1. Feeling a lil tired this morning but then I do every morning I guess. Scrambled eggs for breakfast, love that feta. Strong black coffee - luckily thatās my fave anyway coz youāre not meant to have milk and sugar too much. My body is a little achey from the HIIT but itās not as bad as I thought it would be. And today is a REST!!!! day so Iām glad about that. Feeling good so far!
Cycle 1 Day 2, breakfast lunch and dinner. (I wonāt post pics every time - just when I have something different) I had the scrambled eggs for breakfast - they were really nice. So much though! Itās hard to eat a big portion that early on, I guess itās something Iāll need to get used to. Iāll get there. The lunch was okay, and easy to eat at work - Iām not insanely keen on it but itās not gross at all, I can stick with it for now tho coz itās easy to batch cook. Dinner was really good - I got my SO to make it for me in the day so that I could come home, smash my workout and then get it down me. It was flavourful if a little spicy but that just made me drink more water I guess so that canāt be bad!
I had the spicy lean turkey mince for lunch and the chicken satay for dinner. I had a lil mix up around dinner time coz my plan was to initially have salmon fishcakes but I opened the tin up and it was so insanely gross (small edible bones I can stand⦠there was part of a spine in there and it really grossed me out) so I had to switch it up and thatās why the dinner looks a little small - I didnāt have enough courgette to make 2 portions (I was cooking for my SO as well) so thatās half a portion. I made the rest up with some spinach. The lunch was really good as well. Iām surprised at how flavourful all of this stuff is. Pretty delish! The satay sauce for the chicken was really peanutty , proper tasty.
Cycle 1, day 1, breakfast.
So this was my breakfast on the first day of the 90 day challenge, cycle 1. It was actually pretty good - there was quite a lot there but I felt KNACKERED after my morning HIIT sesh so I ate it all, obv. I used chocolate protein powder to make them too so it was a lil more flavourful.
Starting the plan - why am I here?
Iād only heard little snippets about Joe and the 90 day program when I signed up. I did it because my manager at work was talking about her daughter and how sheād been making meals out of his books for a few weeks and how she was feeling great etc.
I was close to my limit mentally in terms of body negativity and I was so exhausted of just saying āI canāt keep feeling this wayā. I have no issue with being a lil chunky - I kinda like it! What I donāt like is feeling unfit and lazy, having bad skin and headaches which all lead to a bad overall attitude towards life.
So I did it. I signed up and I am only on my second day now but I feel good about it, I think sometimes you just need to go ahead and do something completely different in order to shake up your life a little bit.
So far (2 days, so not much experience with it yet) I am enjoying it a lot, thereās a LOT of effort involved in making all the food for the week and my god itās expensive but Iām at the point now that Iām happy to try anything!
Iāll use this blog to keep myself on track and hold myself accountable for the changes I really want to see in myself. So yeah! Iām sure no one will ever read this but it really helps to get it down on virtual paper.
