Not a shabby start for the new year. I am about 7-10kg lighter than I was about a year ago: 120kg. Unsure about the exact stats back then, since I did not weigh in before May and before that I had gone almost 1.5 years without tracking my weight or caring what I stuffed in me. I do know for sure I have lost 17.8kg from my heaviest weight.
I started with IF last May and it did wonders to me. Being the food addict that I am, came June and Midsummer and it was way too easy to make exceptions and never go back. However about 1.5 month ago I started recognizing health problems again and some new ones arrived and it snapped me back into my senses. During this time I've managed to lose the same kilos again in a relatively short time. I am mainly doing 18:6 IF with going a bit over at times when I feel like it. Some days are harder than others and I allow myself to cut those shorter to 14-16 hour fasting windows. I've only had a couple days when my food addiction overcame me and broke the fast. I am learning to recognize my food habits and cravings better with introspection and keeping a fasting journal. Also, those new health problems I had are already gone!
My goals for the year are continuing with IF and some extended fasting in the mix, going hiking and completing the c25k program. I'd love to do even more, but better to keep these reasonable so I don't lose hope.

BMI 39.9! Moved down to “severely obese”! Fasting Rocks!

I’ve discovered intermittent fasting as a working tool for my weight loss. Hoping to turn this into a lifestyle and incorporate extended fasts too. Started a vlog on YT to keep myself motivated. So far it’s been easy -- been about two weeks.
How Many Times Is It Now?
126.4 kg - that is the current number. I haven’t really tried losing weight in over a year, because for whatever reason I couldn’t keep it up. The addiction seems to always be stronger. However I am pleasantly surprised I only gained 1.3 kg of my last tracked Fitbit weight. I’ve probably had more than that on me at some point (all those chocolates and candies), but I always came back to more reasonable (well reasonable for me) eating. And now, before I finally weighed in, I had for a week or so tried with some half arsed effort. The point being, here I am and I’ll give it a go again. My Fitbit needs a new wristband and I haven’t set my foot to the gym since um... over a year ago as well I guess, but it’s spring -- soon summer -- so I have an opportunity to explore the outdoors more. I have been paying for my gym membership all this time though, which I’ve kept as a sort of punishment for myself (and partly because I rarely seem to do things I should do, like canceling membershpis), so I should go back and start my strength training anew. During this time, that I’ve been lazy and a crappy eater, there’s been some changes to the worse with my body even if I didn’t gain that much weight; my hair has thinned even more, making me very self-conscious about it and my skin is way way worse. I’m hoping regular exercise and healthier food will correct these issues.
As usual I’m also going on an obsessive cycle of reading weight loss related literature, though I’m not finding many well reserved weight loss memoirs that I haven’t already read, which is a bummer. Possibly more about some books later on...
Rest of the week according to Fitbit and face/profile pics for future comparison. Last week was far from perfect, but I did still manage to lose weight, so guess that’s a win. I do need to move more and skip the excuses. Those day recaps are just... sad even when counting the times I forgot to put it on for the morning walk with the doggie (she’s a chihuahua, walkies don’t go far when it’s below freezing). :D
