“Most people do not listen with the intent to understand; they listen with the intent to reply.”
— Stephen R. Covey
You ever hear a song so good you feel like like you’re in love, not with a person but just in love
Be passionate even when no one else is. Who cares who’s looking? Their eyeballs only weigh two ounces. You have a whole life.

HE IS RISEN! The Gospel of John (20:7) tells us that the napkin, which was placed over the face of Jesus, was not just thrown aside like the grave clothes. The Bible takes an entire verse to tell us that the napkin was neatly folded, and was placed at the head of that stony coffin. Early Sunday morning, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb to find that the stone had been rolled away from the entrance. She ran and found Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one whom Jesus loved. She said, 'They have taken the Lord's body out of the tomb, and I don't know where they have put him? Peter and the other disciple ran to the tomb to see. The other disciple out ran Peter and got there first. He stooped and looked in and saw the linen cloth lying there, but he didn't go in. Then Simon Peter arrived and went inside. He also noticed the linen wrappings lying there, while the cloth that had covered Jesus' head was folded up and lying to the side. Is that important? Absolutely! Is it really significant? Yes! In order to understand the significance of the folded napkin, you have to understand a little bit about Hebrew tradition of that day. The folded napkin had to do with the Master and Servant, and every Jewish boy knew this tradition. When the servant set the dinner table for the master, he made sure that it was exactly the way the master wanted it. The table was furnished perfectly, and then the servant would wait, just out of sight, until the master had finished eating, and the servant would not dare touch that table, until the master was finished. Now if the master was done eating, he would rise from the table, wipe his fingers, his mouth, and clean his beard, and would wad up that napkin and toss it onto the table. The servant would then know to clear the table. For in those days, the wadded napkin meant, 'I'm done'. But if the master got up from the table, and folded his napkin, and laid it beside his plate, the servant would not dare touch the table, because.......... The folded napkin meant, 'I'm coming back!' He is Coming Back! (Sermon by a Baptist preacher, Jerry Shirley, preached in 2006)

Don’t keep telling God what you want without asking Him what He wants.
Love this so much I’m reblogging it again
Medications aren’t going to do anything for you. Only God can help you
You are literally the reason why stigma surrounds mental health within the church.
Let me tell you something.
God did not create people to create medications and earn degrees in psychiatry for nothing. He did not gift those people with that passion for nothing. He did not allow the creation of medications for nothing.
God heals in one of three ways; miraculously and on the spot, overtime within your lifetime, or on the day you get to heaven. You can pray and pray and pray for healing and a cure but He’s going to heal you when He wants and how He wants. I have been prayed over more times than I can count. I have prayed myself for healing and to bring an end to this living nightmare. But God and I have had a nice long talk about the fact that He chooses not to heal me right this second because He’s using it to teach me many things.
One of those things is to teach me about the way my brain functions, the medications available for me to use under His approval. He’s teaching me the ways therapy can help people and how much some psychiatrists actually care about their patients. He’s teaching me the science behind my illnesses and why I am the way that I am.
If it weren’t for medications, I wouldn’t be alive. I have a shit brain, and I’m not even sorry about it. Because it isn’t prayers that have saved me, it’s medications that have. I am not sorry that I am reliant on medications to keep my head above water. So I encourage you to rethink your opinions.
In Exodus when God delivered the Israelites he sought relationship with them first. He showed them again and again his faithfulness through delivering them. Only when they were ready did he make covenant and give them the commandments. We have to teach relationship first. Morality flows from relationship. Relationship gives perspective. It changes the way you see the law. Suddenly you get to rather than have to. Suddenly you just won’t rather than try.
