This is the tumblr for all my fic recs and random fandom nonsense. Don't like it? Don't follow. Also, don't say I didn't warn you. I plan on approaching this tumblr from a Dean from Supernatural perspective. Driver picks the music. Shotgun shuts his cakehole. Fandoms to be included most: Supernatural, Star Trek, Firefly, X-Files (if there's any out there) and whatever else tickles my fancy. I'm not opposed to posting fic rec's that people want to submit to me. So, feel free. It can be anonymously rec'd or I can post who you are. Unless otherwise stated, no fic is my own. I just rec 'em. It should be obvious by their livejournal/ff.net/etc user name with the fic being posted, but I like my bases covered. That is all. * spn fic recs * st:xi fic recs *
so little time. I've read a lot of fic the last week, guys. I have plenty of awesome to rec. Now I just gotta sit down and rec 'em! (...tomorrow night. Definitely tomorrow night).
It's out, my review. I have no idea if it makes any sense though, just wrote it all in a hurry - my feelings are way to mixed to handle right after a movie. But you know, my patience. Can't tease it. http://runawayraincoat.tumblr.com/
Holy balls. Your Karla review. Yes. It's a crazy mixed up situation. Karla had all the signs and symptoms and situation for spousal abuse. We can't fully tell what was in her head (did she like helping him do this stuff because it made him happy... or her). We'll never know. A Canadian friend of mine had MUCH to say on the situation about how the trial was handled and this movie how it's from her point of view, making her look like a victim, but honestly... she was a victim. It doesn't excuse the stuff she did, she did wrong, no denying that. She helped him abduct, etc. There's the question of was she just as much a captive as the girls they took? He was dangerous. iunno. I've watched it a couple times... and my mind still reels over it. Because honestly, we'll never get the full story. We weren't there to see her face, be in her shoes. But yeah... creeper!Misha. idefc, he's adorable.
Haha, thanks for the reply! I am actually very exited to watch it. I love horror movies, but haven't watched any in a while. So to do a horror comeback, and with Misha, that must be a good deal!I have this weak spot for pretty murderers. Like "Red Mist" - I was always on the killers side because of Andrew Lee Potts. Haha.
It's more rapist and murdered. And it's based off true events in Canada. And I know people who live a town away from where the wife lives. It's. Yeah, watch and you'll know what I'm talking about. I really want to hear your reactions to this movie. Plz tell me you'll blog your thoughts. (I'm curious like that)
That movie. ...where's my DVD of it. It is good. It's potentially triggering if you have past issues, but beyond that. It's awesome. In that Psychological thriller type of way... like Natural Born Killers, but with Misha. I think I read somewhere where he said not to watch it. That it had even frightened him. Good luck storming the castle! :D
Supernatural fic. AMAZING. Like, I can't even. This is literally my favorite destiel fic right now.
It starts out pre-Apocalypse (like, end season 4-5 is how it feels, since it was written before season 5) and ends in the future. Yep, this is future!fic. Beautifully written. I cry every time I read it.
Warning: character death, slash
Not mine and rec'd without notification, as per usual. XD
This fic is near a year old and I swear I've read it hundreds of times. It's the "Jensen and Jared growing up" fic. It's only 3kish words, but it's so made of win. I guess it's schmoopy, but whatever. It's awesome. Check it if you haven't. :D
(also, I swear I'll pin down how I'm going to bag and tag these fic posts to some semblance of order and continuity. Trying out some things... plz bear with me)
This Is Important, You Should Know About It of the Day: Openly lesbian Syrian blogger Amina Arraf, who fearlessly wrote about her country’s political turmoil at A Gay Girl in Damascus under the nom de plume Amina Abdallah, was abducted last night by armed men while on her way to a meeting in Damascus.
Her cousin Rania wrote about the abduction on Amina’s blog: “Amina was seized by three men in their early 20s. According to the witness (who does not want her identity known), the men were armed.” Rania goes on to report that the men covered Amina’s mouth and hustled her into “a red Dacia Logan with a window sticker of [president Bashar al-Assad’s deceased brother] Basel Assad.”
The Guardian says Amina — who is an American citizen as well — “had become increasingly popular after capturing the imagination of the Syrian opposition as the protest movement struggled in the face of the government crackdown.”
Supporters have taken to Facebook and Twitter to draw attention to Amina’s unlawful seizing, but, according to Rania, it’s unclear who took her or why. “Unfortunately, there are at least 18 different police formations in Syria as well as multiple different party militias and gangs,” she wrote in a recent update. “We do not know who took her so we do not know who to ask to get her back. It is possible that they are forcibly deporting her.”
Updates on Amina’s situation will be posted on her blog.
