Japanese pastries & me flexin with my recipe notebook x)
Japanese pâtisserie unboxing. Usagiya Strasbourg, new franco-japanese pastry concept shop, deserves a big heads up for their savoir-faire. The owner worked 10 years in Japan before returning to her home country, Alsace (un brin chauvin oui). Wanted to try everything so I took one of each (a bit pricy tho), their Dorayakis are insanely good, among their other pastries.Â
Why Antony Bourdain is still a great inspiration to me. Sit down, be humble.Â
Maria’s method for onion picklesÂ
pretty self explanatory (let them up to 3 weeks to marinate in cider / red wine vinegar, in closed jars)
BEST WAY TO COOK RICE - EVER -Â Â
One of the best weekends I’ve had lately! Gone to a friend’s house in the alsacian countryside, had a lil’ hike, homemade brioche, homemade apple cake & great cheese, & of course, schnaps and beer!
Tasting Alfajores for the first time (crispy sandy dulce de leche sandwiches)
Pretty good, but very dry!
Eperlans (fried fish we eat as an appetizer)
A great Japanese - Peruvian restaurant in Strasbourg.
Had the best edamame yet in France :)
And the best pisco ! @almastrasbourg
Alsacian traditionnal hot wine in the Christmas season.
Lebanese restaurant. Food was awesome!
Mini kiwis from my parent’s garden. They’re delicious!
Birthday presents for my gf.
(and yes, this is cheese, I’m not french for nothing)
Matcha sablĂ©s from my gf.Â
(aka the best)
Alsace 2019′s wine muscat harvest. Not sure it belongs here (is wine food? kinda)Â
If you’re into wine, you should try to do the harvesting once. You eat well, you drink a lot, you sure do work hard, and get drenched by the heavy rain we have fall september. But it’s fun, you meet people and the landscape’s gorgeous! (and you get free bottles)
Sometimes you got to let game designer’s life get to you. Raclette !Â
Strange luxurious holidays with my ancient studio bosses.Â
One week of foodie paradise and fast cars. Can’t say more.
Had my first Krispy Creme doughnuts in 2014, on some Taipei’s square. Â
Can’t complain. These were the absolute thing. We don’t have any doughnuts shops in France. I miss those so much (not saying they’re the best tho, Dunkin’s are great too)
