okay it seems that some of you are so following that i think ace kkat is so good because not being able to have sexual attraction can result in a lot of split feelings and confusion between "is this romantic or platonic" (projection) which can explain why hes so confused and going around when it comes to dating his friends! in addition with dave its a different matter but mostly on how he seems to easily make a ton of sex and dick jokes without getting uncomfortable but when it comes up to actual intimacy he gets avoidant and nervous (projection) and then put them together. bam a tasteful sandwich

ace davekat has been my hc for the longest time bc 1) im ace im projecting and 2) it just makes SENSE i mean thinking about daves childhood and what it mustve been like to literally grow up surrounded by sexual iconography and to know what that was right away and not feel any connection to it the overcompensation with sexual jokes is extremely predictable. bro made it obvious to him that sex was something he was supposed to have from a way too young age, and his relationship with sex HAS to be super screwed up bc of him, but im not gonna get too far into it rn cuz that can get dark rq. but to not identify with it and kno that he should, it makes sense that hed make so many sex jokes and TALK about sex like he is a sexual person just to compensate, which is really common for ace people. but the moment people get too serious about it, like equius with his slam poetry, or people touching him physically, he starts to panic and try to back out of it because he doesnt REALLY want it. and i could say a lot more abt ace dave, abuse, and sexual trauma and how that all compounds but i feel like thats a whole other post. so, ill just finish this by saying dave is totally sex repulsed and thats part of where his touch aversion comes from.

w karkat, hes a huge romantic, so he has a set idea of how relationships should go. and because hes ace, HES not that set idea. a lot of ace ppl have a really complicated relationship with their sexuality because it can make attraction confusing and hard to differentiate between platonic and romantic. which, you already covered that pretty well. but its also worth thinking about how it must feel going through life and thinking he wants something, only to find out that everyone does relationships different than him. allo culture and allo ways of dating arent always good options for people who are ace, and ESPECIALLY people who are demiromantic, which i also hc karkat as being. romance is so important to him, and it can be really hard to feel like he isnt doing it right, or theres something missing from the way he does it. i think in that case hed hold onto traditional romance ideas like "finding the right person" and stuff like that even harder, because its not based in a sexual relationship, and if he believes thats the right way to do it, he can maybe convince himself that the way he does stuff is fine and normal.

because theyre BOTH ace, it never crosses daves mind to judge karkat in any way. he doesnt even fucking think of it. hes too busy freaking out over basic physical intimacy. but, because karkats also ace, hes a lot more understanding of daves limits and helps him figure out where his boundaries are and what kinds of touch hes okay with and what kinds he isnt. which i could say even mORE abt that but this reply is already so long so akfhskdsb
