Unpopular Opinion: I actually despise how so many fans push this, "Kushina loved Obito so much! She was like a mom to him!" agenda, just because of Naruto filler. Mind you, their entire "relationship" exists purely in filler. It doesn't exist in the manga.

Obito having a parental relationship with Kushina and her giving him affection also destroys the narrative that Obito had no one and was an orphan (Obito’s filler grandma does this as well). The big reason Obito had such an attachment to not only Rin, but Kakashi as well, was because they were the only true relationships he had in his life. Rin especially has been there for him since day one.

I feel like all the filler the anime and games added destroy the parallel Obito is supposed to have to Naruto. He was an outcast for a reason. He only had Rin and Kakashi for a reason. That's why he wanted to make a world where the three of them could be together again in some way.

Notice how Minato and Kushina are never included in any of the versions of his ideal world? That's for a reason. We also never see Obito considered her a person precious to him in any canon scenes.

Even Minato is in hot water, but that's a discussion for another time.

Also, this is a minor thing, but why do fans keep saying "Obito killed Minato"? Minato killed himself. That's what the Reaper Death seal does! He had no reason to die. Even Kushina wanted him to live and raise Naruto. Stop blaming Obito over the death of his sensei when that man chose to kill himself. Minato is allowed to be flawed.
