Archy Marshall, at the ripe age of 18 has produced some seriously good tracks. His dulcet tones are underlined by his cool, effortless guitar lines, creating some fresh tunes from the UK. Previously performing under the alter-ego "Zoo-kid", his older material can be found on bandcamp here: http://zookid.bandcamp.com/
Hi :) I really love your blog, where do you study design? I hope to study fashion/design in london or paris(i dream big i guess).:) Im shawny btw :)
Hey Shawny, nice to meet you! Cheers, thank you so much! I'm Brittany. Where are you from? I think you should definitely go for it! I'm in fourth year architecture at the moment, I just finished a year on exchange in Milano studying Architecture and design at Politecnico di Milano (My home university is QUT in Australia though). I think if you're interested in design it's important to realise that it's mostly self taught, so things like tumblr etc although they can seem like time wasting exercises, you can learn and find sooo much stuff that influences your style and knowledge etc. The biggest and most important influence for me is definitely travel. You learn so much about yourself and design/the world etc. I have quite a few friends studying in Paris and London doing design, they love it. I'm looking at studying my masters in Design at either the Royal College of Art in London, The Royal Danish School of Design in Copenhagen or somewhere like TU Berlin (Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Slovenia, etc are free to study for EU citizens...Sweet!) Luckily my dad is English, so I have an EU passport although I'm from Australia. Will check out your tumblr :) cheers for the compliments! B.
Girls make me crazy sometimes.
The Big Smoke of 52'. In December 1952, London was engulfed for 4 days in a relentless cloud of thick, black smog caused by a combination of cold weather and windless conditions. Coal particles and other airborne pollutants made it near impossible to see anything in the city. Although at the time, it was not seen as a particularly significant event, it is estimated that over 100,000 people contracted respiratory tract infections and between 4,000-12,000 died thereafter.
Berlin Now - 1985 is a German Music Documentary showing the reality of the then New, West Berlin in comparison to the Propaganda driven images portrayed in the media at the time. Features music from various important German musicians of the time and international artists such as Lou Reed and the Sex Pistols. "As the film bounces around styles like TV movie of the week to underground exploitation, the music is what solidifies and gives continuity. It is a specific time in a specific place that feels both nostalgic and cutting edge."
Current Location: Positano, Campania, Italia. Currently travelling by car through the south of Italy, this week's stop is in Positano, a town with a permanent population of 3,000 inhabitants, built on the side of steep hills and cliffs descending towards the sea.
