Wow, it's been a long time since my last blog update and now, here I am trying to cram all my thoughts in one blog post about my experiences during my first semester in college.
The past few months has truly been a huge adventure for me. In a span of 5 months, I've already experienced a lot of firsts, countless sleepless nights, emotional breakdowns & frustrations.
First of all, being a dormer was really, really exhausting. After our afternoon classes, I'd always be stressing out about where I'm going to buy myself dinner. Another problem is that the wi-fi connection in my dorm is really, really unstable, I can barely stand it anymore. Also, living in a place where I'm not closely related to anyone makes me feel lonely. Everyday, I get homesick. It was really hard for me to adjust but thank God, by the end of the semester, I was able to cope with these problems.
Fridays. 1AD7's Fridays were always the most stressful day of the week. It's extra stressful for me since on Fridays, I commute home all the way in Batangas. Our last class on Fridays doesn't end until 6pm and boy, I can't even put into words how much stress this class has given us. We have even experienced times when we were dismissed at 8pm. This upcoming sem, our last class on Fridays still end at 6pm. Hahaha, definitely no TGIF's for us.
Plates. I don't even know where to begin. To say that working on plates is stressful would be an understatement. It's very exhausting on my part because unlike my blockmates, I have very, very little experience in traditional art. Seeing them doing their thing as I sit in one corner, not even knowing where and how to begin is very frustrating. But somehow, I was able to get through all the plates given for us to work on, yaaay.
Despite all these downsides, I can't be more grateful with all the blessings I have received throughout the semester. The results of my grades weren't very bad. Our profs weren't very strict with us and thankfully, no "terror profs" so far. Also, I have met the most amazing people and group of friends ever. It's almost scary how much I've gotten close to these people. I'll never forget all the memories I've shared with them this semester. Lastly, I am beyond grateful that I have three of my closest friends from high school always by my side. We got each other's backs, hahah. Our movie marathons, late night adventures at Dapitan/Lacson and my plate making sessions at their apartments are definitely something memorable.
I am so thankful for these experiences, the blessings and the people who keep me sane. One sem down, seven more to go!
