The new producers really have blown Borel apart and sent Seb and Rebecca away from Robron’s orbit forever all in one episode!! They are truly erasing every mess Iain ever made!!! God bless!!!!!

Me, yelling at Robert Sugden to give Seb over to Rebecca so we can all move on and forget this hellish storyline ever existed:

but honestly can you imagine how many things they can talk about/deal with in the wake of rebecca leaving with seb??

both robert and aaron’s issues with how they were raised/grew up (which we haven’t seen much of on screen?? talk about your childhoods in general!!)

talk about what happened last year! especially aaron!! because he had very little pov about it

hell they can delve into robert’s internalised homophobia!! maybe the reason he thinks seb needs to be with his mum is not just because he lost his own mum so early but because he thinks seb would be better off with a mother than with two dads? aaron could confront him about it and robert deals with it!! (could u imagine i’ve been dying for them to delve into rob’s sexuality again there is still so much to explore there)

set them up for the future by talking about what they’re wanna do in the future!! we know aaron is gonna suggest surrogacy and no matter where that goes they /have/ to talk about their future as a couple and family in the process which is exciting

What I really like about that preview clip is that it’s not overly sentimental. It’s sad and emotional, but it’s true to Aaron’s character and not mushy or over the top. His main concern is that Seb might think he’s been abandoned, because Aaron felt like that when Chas left him, and he doesn’t want that for another kid. Also he’s not acting like a father. He’s acting like a family member who has grown to care a lot about this little kid, but not like he’s a dad or has any ownership, which feels more appropriate given the storyline and the circumstances. 

I think Maxine got the tone just right on this one, which is difficult in this mess of a storyline.

I’m actually ENJOYING a part of this hellish storyline??? 

Rebecca getting her backbone and manipulative side back instead of being written as a helpless saint???? HOORAY!!! Writing her using her White-family side to get her son is what Chrissie would have done with Lachlan and I like that link between the White sisters as fierce mothers. 

Aaron is actually allowed to be angry at Rebecca and express his dislike openly??? I hate the circumstances, and it’s not his place AT ALL, but at least that authenticity is coming through. He’s never liked Rebecca or trusted her. That’s consistent for him. Aaron is rude as hell and the writers suddenly seemed to remember. 

Robert actually getting punished for 2017??? Thank you God and also Jesus. There’s no reason he should come out of this smelling of roses after that mess with the Whites while Rebecca lost her family and her ability to parent on her own. 

ROSS IS THERE. Aka Seb’s biological dad. (Don’t @ me, they’ll run the story one day even if it’s 17 years into the future, you know they will)

Aaron and Robert are written as a team. I love seeing them teaming up against an enemy. It works for their dynamic when they’re being shits but together. 

Charity IMMEDIATELY throwing Robron under the bus to keep Moses. I mean it’s awful but it’s SO Charity and it was almost funny in a terrible way. 

Also it looks like Seb is off with his mum and Robron can finally move on and potentially start their own family, which is always a plus.
