Music and joy were floating in the air. Allison and her parents were on their way back home from their friends’ house. They were laughing, remembering how fun it had been during the evening. The road was dark and it was quite difficult to see far in the distance. It was so dark that when they saw the car coming right at them, it was too late to avoid it. It happened really fast. Both cars crashed one into the other.
A young man woke up. All he saw was the wreckages of the other car. He quickly came out of his car and ran to the other, wanting to verify that the car’s passengers were alright. He didn’t even want to imagine what the outgrowth of his mistake. Unfortunately for him, the driver had died from the crash. The passenger in the front was barely breathing and when he tried to help her, she refuses his help. She told him to take her daughter out first. At first the boy hadn’t seen the third passenger. She was unconscious, but still breathing. The mother was begging him to save her daughter. He carefully took the girl that maybe had his age and brought her as far away from the smoking as possible. Just as he had put the girl down, the car went up in flames. Guilt washed over him as he watched the car being consumed by the flames. What had he done? Even though he had done way worse in his life, he knew that taking the girls’ parents away from her was something he would never forgive himself for. What a dumb idea, driving under the influence of alcohol and anger.Â
The girl woke up in the ambulance while she was on her way to the hospital. It was blurry, but she could clearly see two figures standing above her and keeping an eye on her. One she recognized as the paramedic and the other she could only his dark eyes. The boy had claimed with her in the ambulance. Only a few seconds after, the girl went back into the darkness.
The boy had been able to avoid time pass in prison as the girl’s grandparents did not want to had more to their grief and with the help of his father’s best lawyer and money. He still remembered the accident and without even knowing why. He promised himself he would keep an eye on the girl from whom he took so much.
Allison wanted to find the one responsible for her loss. She wanted to make him pay. To make him know how she felt. Her grandparents had kept a secret the identity of the boy from her. She did not recall many things of the accident. All she could remember was the dark road, the car coming right at them, glass flying everywhere, flames, and the dark eyes of someone in the ambulance with her. ...
She hated him without even knowing who he was and he wanted to protect her while it’s not something he would have done normally.
