Thinking about how Miles and Gwen kinda parallel Xina and Miguel. Both Gwen and Miguel betrayed their respective love interests by keeping secrets from them, fueled by their fear of vulnerability and forming close connections (mostly because of parental trauma). In turn, Miles and Xina cut themselves off, despite harboring lingering feelings. There’s also the fact that both pairs find solace in one another, with Miles and Gwen seeing each other as the same compared to other Spiderpeople and Xina and Miguel finding safety in each other as young students when they felt isolated from their peers.

This could be reaching as there’s plenty of differences between the pairs, but I feel like both relationships demonstrate the universal desire that despite the mistakes of the past and our own personal flaws, we can still be seen and loved. In order to get to that point, forgiveness and reconciliation needs to be achieved.

From the looks of it, Miles and Gwen will reach reconciliation in BTSV as she tries to save him in Earth-42 with the Spider Squad. If Miles and Gwen can find their way back to each other across time and space, then Xina and Miguel have to chance to reconcile and reconnect again too.
